One way to derail our season by selling him.
An appreciating asset.
Unless 777 want their 100m sharpish, or other things need paying, I think he stays.

If we need £75mil to keep the construction of BMD going he will be sold.

I'm not sure that's true tbh, if the max we can get is say £80m and not a penny more then we'd still sell because it helps us reinvest and strengthen multiple positions.
We're not in a position to keep a player who could be sold for huge money out of pure stubborn 'we want £100m' mentality.
We will wait and see, I'd like to think the club have grown a new set of swingers and will dig their heels in.
He's not the only saleable asset in the squad after all.
Also CB's go on for a lot longer, whoever gets him, that's basically your CB sorted for the next 10 years, more than worth the value.

The 75 tag was reported as our price a fortnight ago, he's so exceptional wouldn't be surprised to see that climb by the end of the season if we keep hold of him until then, he's worth 10 Maguire's

He's worth whatever someone will pay for him, hopefully that's £100m

It's a real shame he hasn't managed to nab 1 or 2 England caps, always helps to bump up value.

The Independent are quite are reliable source, and they say a source at the club is quoting £100m so that's more than good enough for me.
That's what I would expect it to be, and it's not an unreasonable price in the current market.

He’s absolutely boss you could tell he was going all the way watching those PSV CL matches. He had that bit extra about him.

Speaking of PSV, didn't they enquire and we told them at the time £15M and they turned it down?
Lolz if true.

None of us had seen him play before the start of this season though, remember?
