The six month recovery from a broken foot is a huge concern for me.

Feel like that’s going to be a constant issue for him for the rest of his career.

I think he would be great in lots of ways and not turning my nose at him but see his signing last season as pushing N’diaye out of his favoured position, who is at a good age.

I see 15 million a year loan as questionable, when he won’t be fit for the start of the season,, hasn’t played since January and could face more injuries at this age.

He’s a superstar, yes and seems like a wonderful person but I think I would prefer we signed a right winger with pace and put N’diaye on the left if he stayed but I’m sure that won’t happen.

No one turning their nose up fantastic player the injury is what’s causing people to question it

We can’t compete with Villa, neither financially nor the offer of CL, he’s a Brummie lad, all in their favour.

I fully trust the club will do what is best in these type of situations.

If we sign him and get two good years out of him he’ll go down as the best player we’ve had in the premier league.

There’s too many question marks for the money we’re paying unfortunately.

I don’t see a world where that injury isn’t a constant concern at his age.

Definitely worth the risk, but Villa could be too much of a pull.

An 8 month seemingly innocuous injury which means he still wouldn't pass a medical. For an investment in an ageing player that means parting with eye watering sums with little resale value.

I think I can see where there might be a disconnect between board and manager.

He’d be a guaranteed starter here under Moyes, though.

Depends what Jack wants, and also what he feels his own body can cope with.

Yeah, it's gone from "probably out for the rest of the season" to not being fit for the start of the next season. Seems a long time for a stress fracture, Gomes was back in half the time with his foot facing the wrong way.

If it happens it'll be late in the window and I'd hope the injury will be a big part of the negotiations but I feel it'll be a bit of a vanity signing rather than a good one. I won't be at all bothered if we miss out on this one, the fact we looked after most of his recovery and the deal still isn't done would suggest the club have doubts too.

He confirmed himself that he's not gone on pre season with Man City as he's still recovering and not in training yet.

All injuries have a chance of reoccurring just needs to be factored in the negotiation, as said above...
