For me the big problem was how easily they played through the middle, and how difficult it was for us to play through the middle.
Obviously they have amazing midfielders and we have shite ones so it does make sense, but was hard to watch them pick it up in behind our midfield on the turn again and again, while our passing was just literally lumping it up with no CMS anywhere near the middle of the pitch to receive it we wanted to.

Did he even succeed once in getting a victory at those grounds when he was at West Ham, Sunderland or even Man Utd?
Yeah. Went to the Emirates with West Ham and beat them the season before last.

Great job so far. Last 2 matches sum up everything that is wrong with him.

I reckon every manager of a premier league side made changes tonight.
Good few players tonight showed they can’t be trusted.
Said in the match day thread players like McNeil and Alcaraz should be able to come in and play to a decent level but it’s obvious they can’t be trusted which makes the managers job harder.
Would still much rather win on Monday than tonight tbh.

Is every single loss going to be on moyes btw?
I get it tonight, but the derby? Nah, they’re playing a different sport to us.
Probably need to temper expectations and realise there’s still going to be some pretty bad defeats this season.

Is any defeat going to be Moyes' fault?

Its approach for me thats the issue.
Tonight is obvious with mad shite selection.
Derby, approach shocking and no reason why?
Just disappointing really but not a surprise.

Team selection cost us, felt a bit arrogant playing so many reserves. Wasn't the team you select away to a premier league team... Felt like we'd set up to play a team a level or two below us!
Saying that I explained a lot more from those players, they were dreadful and it's a bit worrying that there's such a drop off when we don't have certain players on the pitch.
Total waste of an opportunity to progress deep in a cup competition, just shite all round.

I think my anger is just because it feels totally self-inflicted tonight, and it's also a hit to the feelgood factor. Changes are fine but with the squad we have that just felt like too many poor players on the pitch.
He probably banked on the big guns turning it round if he had to resort to chucking then on, but that was a miscalculation too, if not necessarily his fault

Can't be changing strikers at HT every match, it's not junior football.

Concerning thing is that neither seem good enough to start and both are far better off the bench.

He’s got a lot of credit in the bank but lost a fair bit of it tonight. Really poor
Even apart from the team selection, to take Alcaraz off and leave McNeil on was bizarre

I have to say yes, first half against the shite was on him, and tonight is on him.
Coleman left back, McNeil being anywhere near team selection in the form he is in, nevermind staying on for as long as he did. Tim staying on, just mind blowing.
I am very grateful for what he did last season, but I would have preferred a better plan from the owners for him to come in steady the ship and then move upstairs and make way for a younger hungry more tactical manager.
I just hope in the games from now on he let's the players play like they did in the past 5 games (even the second half of the derby). It seems to suit the players we now have and is good to watch. I hope we have something planned for January for 3 players and I don't even have to name the positions as it is obvious which ones.
