Do you personally agree with the fact a September game against West Ham is more important than winning a cup?
If the cup was on the line today I'd criticise his tactics and selection. But it wasnt.

The nature of a cup competition means that the cup was on the line today

Yes but in a sport where guarantees are non existent and are approached on many fronts, I prefer we focus on what's more important and likely.
We've been starved of wins and nice footy, that in the 3 games where we've done ok, I think it's gone to our head.
The main advantage of winning today would be one more game to blood new players and test/gel the squad.
We've had a crack at throwing everything short term at European riches and it didn't work out so well.

what flog to death are you on about 6 games in no league game for a week absolutely no need to make that many changes
People complained the other week when we subbed gueye off while 2 goals up. They are gonna get flogged to death or we are gonna risk losing games because we have very few replacements good enough and it's a long season.
Ultimately like most of the premier league teams we've decided we just don't much care If we are in the 4th round of the league cup or not

If a club in our position (not in Europe and too good to go down - allegedly) can’t be arsed if we’re in a cup competition that can get us to where we want to be (ie Europe), I give up. It’s highly doubtful we’ll qualify via the PL this season so the two cups are a good route and we’ve thrown one chance away.
I love Moyes and I loved the positive vibes he was giving off when he came back but think he’s made a right mess of this. He could have made three of four changes and we may have had a chance but seven changes with our squad was asking for what we got. Nothing.

My point exactly we had a chance against a struggling wolves side change 3/4 that’s it Tim shouldn’t be anywhere near the team against prem level players but plays the full 90 Seamus at left back was bizarre and the constant changing of the striker is doing neither any good

I mean. If you're gonna use the second string at least put Aznou at LB see what he's about.
What was there to gain from playing a pensioner out of position there?
Lost a huge chunk of faith in him after last night.
He's won the equivalent of the Johnstones paint trophy of Europe, thought he would have gone for it.

People complained about the Gueye coming off because taking him off and replacing him with Iroegbunam when trying to close out a game is a questionable substituion.
We're not in any danger of flogging players to death at the moment, that's just complete hyperbole. We do have some options and changes we can make and we're not in a terrible position squad-wise, but the issue with last night was with going too far with the number of changes and ending up with a disjointed team on the pitch.

This is misrepresenting what I said.
A win in the league is more important than a win in the 4th round of the league cup.

Nobody kicked off when we made changes for Mansfield because our second string shouldn't have an issue with that. Significant changes against Wolves was a big risk that didn't pay off.
Moyes would get more slack if it wasn't for his history with us in cups. Think it's just a shame we didn't balance the need to keep the positivity going with a win. Puts the team under more pressure for the next game and the mood can change quickly which I disagree with personally, if we lose three on the bounce.

I thought the changes were disrespectful to the team...the club...the fans...to the competition......to wolves !!
I'd always go for league position over cups....but come on davey....that was a calamatist disaster...all on you....

Yeah that's the thing. Lose against the shite but progress against Wolves and that lifts the mood. Draw against West Ham at home and people would be disappointed but it is what it is. Now it feels like if we don't win against West Ham then the mood is going to hit the floor again.

He should recognise what we have been through the last few years, those scars are going to take a long time to heal. Unnecessary overthinking and cocking about that results in a loss has less credit in the bank no matter how well he's done.

Part of the issue is that he doesn't (can't?) rotate at all in the league, so when he rotated so drastically in the cup it's more than half a side who've had no minutes and look completely shot with no idea how to play the system.

Can see Moyes part 2 petering out with a whimper based on the last 2 results.
Still making the same mistakes as 10-15 years ago
