Oh lads.

I think he's great, and just wish he'd have had a longer run in the team under Moyes. That Tottenham game really stands out for me.

Obviously, he has certain limitations and troubles with injury, but playing CF under Benitez, Lampard and Dyche was a thankless task. He was almost a bystander and barely involved in the game.

I still think financially/game time/aspirations we'd be the best fit for him and I reckon - injuries permitting - with more progressive tactics and better players around him, Moyesy would have got a decent tune out of him.

I wish him the best, really hope he goes abroad so I can continue to root for him.

The injury under Benitez and the numerous times he was rushed back from that injury seem to have dulled his pace and leaping ability just enough that he’s no longer such a handful for PL defenders physically. I think he has a greater chance of rediscovering some form if goes to a less physical league.

Him and richarlison in turkey would be a fun combo

I think he could do an excellent job in Serie A. Would like to see him go there.

I actually don't think they'd want him - would they want to risk spending a big chunk of their wage outlay on a player that's likely to get injured? Risky to have Dom as your main man.

I think he'll get somewhere decent. He must have put feelers out to guage the level of interest before turning our offer down.

I think it’ll go to the end of the transfer window and possibly beyond.
He’ll get offers, but will want to hold out, although missing preseason could have a massive impact on staying fit during the season.

There is a reason we let him go for free. It’s because he would have wanted a long term contract with a higher wage than we were willing to pay.

DCL will have to acknowledge that he either needs to drop the length of the contract or drop his wage demands. No one is signing him on a 5 year contract, and if they do, they haven’t done their research and medical properly. He will get injured at least once a season, and will be out for a number of games. That means that value that you get from that player drops.

He would have had offers already for 2 or 2 and half year contracts at a similar wage that he was getting here.

The problem is that the internet is a wide open resource of information and he can’t hide the fact that he hasn’t scored many goals in 4 years due to injuries and being out of form. It just is what it is - life is unfair sometimes but that’s just the reality of it for him.
