Why will it always be a topic of discussion. Why are we talking about replacing a manager who's doing well?? And yes it's often suggested he should be removed 1 or 2 years down the line even when we are in decent form

Because this is football and we are fans and we have opinions, right or wrong as they may be.

Personally, very happy with him. Did a great job and I'm looking forward to a lovely, controversy free season of mid-table stability (or better).

I look sideways when people traditionally Critical of something all of a sudden suggest heightened expectations.

We're so far away from a European push. Over 40 points and safe with half a dozen games to go is absolutely the target for this year. 14th or 15th.

Talk of top half or Europe just creates a false narrative that can then be used to criticise the club. We're a few years away from that.

Think talking about a year down the road is a bit weird. Shouldn't we see how the season plays out first?? It smacks of hea doing a good job but we aren't going to accept him really regardless. We've spent too long showing we are still big and very little time just being competent

Because it's just reality, managers move on constantly and will likely be sooner rather than later.

And because it's not just who manages the team is it, it's emblematic of the whole direction of the club.

Like it or not, you have to accept what dyche represents imo.

Wasn’t it because someone put up that he was linked with the England job would be a great move for him he should definitely take it if offered definitely

It shouldn’t be the reality though.

We shouldn’t be speculating on when a manager will lose his job after a relatively successful season.

But it is the reality and a symptom of modern football.

It’s no longer good enough for a manager to get results in trying circumstances. It has to be done in a certain way, and if it isn’t they’ll be large part of the fanbase that will never accept it.

Dyche will always be on the backfoot because of how his teams play. Soon as that poor run of results come, he’ll be put under pressure.

I suspect the new owners will be eager to get their own man in so I’d be surprised if he lasts the season but it will be no reflection on him unless we completely lose the plot.

It’s modern football fandom. I don’t like it at all and would prefer people had more patience and understanding when judging managers but it is what it is.

He could do as well as you could feasibly imagine, and I would want him gone at some point for a coach that plays what I want to watch and believe will take us further than he can in his best imaginable scenario.

Maybe that's a bit ignorant or even foolish but it's just what I believe about football and I'd rather be honest about it.

Delighted for him to do well, but beyond something extraordinary l will look forward to a more exciting future (that will probably never come).

I suppose the ideal but probably unrealistic scenario would be to see Dyche (& Thelwell) improve the quality of our squad over the next few transfer windows and alongside this develop his and our playing style as we improve the talent and options he has to work with. I'm sure we all want to see better football than we saw last season, we can argue about the particular style, but we all want better.

Of course, a run of poor results will probably bring pressure from fans, media and new owners and see hm run out before he has a chance to significantly improve the playing staff. I hope that doesn't happen but I wouldn't back against it.
