I'm on the fence with it tbh, first I definitely thought the attacker thrust his hip in to the keeper to foul him, but on the replays I wasn't completely sure.
I do think he's obstructed the keeper, so foul right? Well... If that's a defender and not the keeper is it a foul? Probably not.
The attacker doesn't have to actively move out of the way of the keeper, and whilst he's in his way and deliberately doesn't move out of his way he doesn't actually have to either.
BUT does he just give him a tiny hip bump to foul him?
Does he obstruct him by making no attempt to play a ball that isn't anywhere near him?
Honestly I don't see how you give it as a foul, I just don't think there's enough in it, and it's probably a mixture of bad luck and Trafford being shit, but could also probably argue for a foul because there's maybe a slight hip thrust to ensure the keeper is obstructed.
Probably overall though I'd say it's just about the right decision... Maybe.

If it was a corner and the attacking team set it up for a forward to 'block' a defender to release another forward then it would be given as a foul, no?
If the guy was just standing there and/or was going for the ball then I'd think no foul. He's running away from the flight of the ball to specifically block the keeper from getting the ball though, so I don't see how it isn't a foul.
Think we'd be absolutely fuming if Pickford didn't get a foul for that.

Thought Gusto might have been sent off by VAR for that one on Willian.
I've got no idea what a red card offence is anymore tbh.

That's as clear a red as you can get in this situation. It's one of those where you can see it's a red as soon as he starts running

Palmer is a fabulous player, isn't he?

Yeah still can't believe that's not a red.
He does touch the ball first so maybe that's why?

He’s out of control. Deffo a red.
Also, how many pens have Chelsea had now? It’s certainly a fuck tonne more than our none. Seems disproportionate to what looks like a very ordinary attacking team.

I don’t bet too often, but when I do, Portsmouth always fuck it up.

The forward looks at him and barges into the keeper rather than going for the ball though, no?
I've just seen it now for the first time clear foul by the striker
The striker realises that the keeper is going to get it and clearly nudges him.
Everyone that says the striker doesn't have to move is right, but he does move , into the keeper.
Another abysmal result changing decision of var

Lunging and out of control and caught him.
That again is a straightforward decision to make, clear red.
Chalk another one up.
Var really is a shambles.

Soccer Saturday gets worse, 'and now lets head back to Matt Murray at Bolton for about the third time to find out the latest on the fan who's required medical attention'. Bizarre how obsessed they are with bringing bad news.
