I know West Ham beat us pre-season but looking a bit poor here as they generally have been under Potter so far. One or two standout players but pretty average squad otherwise.

Away games against newly promoted teams are always tricky, but if Potter continues the form of last season, it won't be too long until the grumbling starts I imagine.

I just think Bowen will always keep West Ham up

Possibly just the early day confidence of promotion, we've seen that before, but you'd probably say based on a sample size of 1 that Sunderland look good enough to make a fist of staying in the league based on the overall performance.

In a world where Sunderland could stay up. There is a pretty small pool in all likelihood of teams that might take their place (if we assume the other promoted teams go down).

Aside from us with our own issues in recent years, it's really down to West Ham, Wolves...then maybe Brentford if they struggle? I doubt Palace (unless they lose Eze and Guehi and don't replace well), Fulham or Forest would drop off that much given their previous seasons. It's a pretty small pool these days.
