And the Lindstrom push whilst DCL is dragged to the floor in a headlock.

Wasn’t a pen this.

Was obvious in real time he was just waiting for the contact instead of going towards the ball.

Nobody around me thought it was a pen as it was clear what he was trying to do.

Not having that, Vestergaard absolutely clatters him with no attempt of getting the ball or even trying to get in front of Beto

Yeah, thought the same myself at the time that he'd been too obviously looking for it and so did others around.

Having said that, I still think it should have been a pen. Looking for it or not, he gets wiped out by the defender who is very lucky to get away with that. Beto needs to make that sort of thing less obvious in future, as it's part of the game to invite challenges like that.

The way I see it, the attacker has every right to shield the ball from the defender and the defender has no right to go through them to get to the ball.

It's a stonewall penalty
He's come from the side with only realistic option of getting the ball is to go through him and as you say absolutely clatters him.
The explanation from var that it was a coming together was laughable.
If it had been anywhere else on the field he would have blown instantly.
Just another awful call off var and swept under the carpet because in the end it didn't matter one iota to the result

Very true.
And no right to go through him to not get the ball either.

This last round of FA Cup games has been a pretty good advert for reminding people the good old days were actually kinda problematic.

All solved by semi-automated offsides though
