That's it.
We let them filter back so easily with the slowness in our attacks, by passing behind our breaking players.

Zero pace on the wings. Must be addressed this summer along with the fullback problems.

holst wrote: Mon Feb 23, 2026 8:52 pm Long time reader of this forum and first time poster! (I remember when the whole site went down / AWOL for a little bit and no other forum like this!)

Anyway. In short, long time Everton fan (since mid 80s as a nipper) and recognise our peaks and troughs throughout this time. More recently, the last few years have been a real drain (threat of relegation and extremely scrappy play) and Moshpit era not helping one bit either. For these past 4-5 years (or arguably since Ancelloti left), our play and watching thereof, has been like your first driving lesson with you kid - a non-stop nervous occassion fearing everytime the opposition attacked.

This season? I'm far more comfortable watching...and don't fear a loss every game.

What's changed? Yes, the stadium and us spening a few bob in the summer, but I really believe good things are on horizon. With 3-4 more solid windows (and not spending like no tomorrow, but investing gains from commercial and potential sales) should put us in a strong position.

Why the post? Just to say watching Everton (today vs United) is far far more enjoyable than it used to be. We can't go from seasons around 16th to 18th up to top 6 in a season (name one team who has and who has remained there in the past 15 years?) but I, for one, would settle for 7th to 10th with a chance for Europe if we get some right results.

Up the toffees and thanks for my game check in for 'how the fans really feel' about the game / season / players.

A great forum
Great first post, Holst!

Did it take you long to planet? 🪐

Boring.

Classless.

Tasteless.

Thoughtless.

He'll just lash Beto on at 66 mins and McNeil for Armstrong on 85.

Get Patterson and George on.

Come on, at least try.
It’s 0-0 against a team miles better than us

Come on man. It’s been fine

Regardless of who we are playing we absolutely could and should be playing a lot better than this, specifically when we are on the ball.

Iroegbunam has looked lively and played some good passes but the over all passing has been scratchy as fuck.

Too many players out of position.

Classic example there.

Kdh picks it up, but Armstrong, who isn't a winger, doesn't bomb on, instead checks back, giving him no option.

I mean, if I was a united fan whose team had spent £700m+ net more than us on players in last 5 years, I'd have a hell of a lot more moaning!

Would like to see it.

Then to see slabhead to take another tumble under pressure from him...
