CB is one of those positions where lots of players get better over time and later in their careers. He could have another 10 years as a footballer so it’s not completely impossible he makes a decent top league defender but, as has been much picked over, he’s currently quite poor at several attributes that make a CB at this level. Maybe the Italian clubs think they can teach him and a deal at 10-15m including lots of add ons isn’t much of a gamble these days. Plus it’s a slower league so his pace and strength can bail him out more than in the prem

You mean theirs hope for Keane yet? Godfrey trains every week and obviously hasn't made Dyche, Lampard or Ancelotti think... yer know what.. he's better at CB. Same with Tom Davies... tried in multiple positions but couldn't make one his. Get 10-15m and that's great business

Bit nearer Everton's valuation but have we checked with Sir Jim Tory and the Utd Twitter accounts if it is ok?

Should up his price.

£15M is sound for him, providing we get it.

Still a little peeved he's gone before Holgate and Keane as he offers more than those 2, but we can't shirk that sort of money for someone in the last year of his contract.

Not the player I was expecting a bidding war on 😂.

Ipswich reportedly trying to buy Greaves from Hull. Think their initial offer was £10m. I would use any Godfrey money to try to sneak in on that deal. Would be a great third choice CB and future starting CB when Branthwaite inevitably leaves.

Problem with Greaves is he is surely gonna go where he knows he is gonna be 1st choice.

Hope we can land him though.

Offer Ipswich both Keane and Holgate for 50p instead

Can understand the first choice quandary but you go to Ipswich let 80 goals in and get relegated, go to us develope and get a bigger move .

Waving goodbye there.

Reckon he's gonna flourish there. Atalanta very rarely get it wrong with player recruitment

I don’t think we’ll miss him as a back up CB (he played there once last season) but he played something like 14 games last year at either LB/RB so we could probably do with his replacement being similarly flexible.

Unless we can get rid of Keane/Holgate then I don’t think we’ll sign a new CB and will instead go with Tarks/Bramthwaite/Keane/Coleman/Welch

I’ll miss him on FM though, he’s always champions league level on it
