He's obviously well loved in the dressing room, that will have helped the decision.

Absolutely has to play at least one game at BMD.

I do think some of these things go a bit OTT.

He's been a really good player and pro for us, and seems like a lovely bloke. He's not Martin Luther King.

I know, but we can’t give him a trophy or anything and he’ll stop just as we move. Be nice to have him play at BMD - even if it’s soccer aid or something.

Sligan.

The whole testimonial thing was originally about sorting players out financially and acknowledging their service to the club. Player loyalty is pretty rare these days and very few players stick around for more than a few seasons. However, as players are now normally finishing their careers multimillionaires, on the rare occasion that testimonials are plyed, the money tends to be donated to a charity of the player's choice.
It would be a fitting end to a great career for the first game at BMD to be a testimonial for a great servant to Everton FC. He totally gets us. He's passionate, humble and comes across as a genuinely nice guy. He's one of the very few players that I'd love to go for a pint with!

Agree. I adore him. But its just another in a long line of things we do. DVDs for finishing 4th, DVDs for winning 1 derby in a million....

Ill watch it and likely get emotional with it, but at the end of the day, we love to celebrate mediocrity.

There’s nothing mediocre about Coleman though.

Signed for 60k from Ireland to become one of the best in the league and club captain for Everton.

It’s a unique story really.

Unfortunately our limited success over our 150 year history means we have to find our own ways to celebrate players.

Like Campbell, he didn’t win anything but he was proper Everton and loved by us all.

It’ll just be a thing to go on the social media channels anyway.

Coleman's class, up there with Baines, probably ahead truth be told.

He's a leader, everyone at the club loves him, from supporters to the players and coaches. He has unbelievable passion for the club and he goes out of his way to help and inspire younger players.

He's just an ultimate professional and seems like a great guy. I'd love to have him as my captain if I were in this team.

No he's not won anything, but that's a symptom of our place in the modern game, not a reflection on him.

Is he a legend? No, not in the truest sense, but he's been an incredible servant both on and off the pitch, and that deserves some form a celebration.

Didn't mean Coleman is mediocre at all.

Just the things we celebrate. It's just sad that we can't celebrate trophies etc. And instead have to put ourselves down but bringing out those dreaded dvds

Amazing player though and an amazing man. One of the best I've known in my 35 years on earth.
