Absolutely buzzing I'll never have to see him in an Everton shirt again

Good luck to him.
If he was as bad as everyone thinks he’d be going to the championship or, at best, a newly promoted premier league team.
Tells me all I need to know to see some of the clubs in for him this summer.
He’s only 26, has plenty of scope to improve and has the attributes to become a really good defender.
It hasn’t happened here for a number of reasons outside of his ability imo.
Another young player we’ve let down.

Wish this was another PSR swap and we get Lookman back

Bye Ben.
I'll miss you trying to steal yards on throw-ins, using your pace to make mad clearances and generally looking angry when you're caught out of position. Best of luck in Italy.

Yeah, I'm pretty pleased to see him moved on.
Wasn't into him as a player, found him to be a liability in the air, and was massively frustrated by his limited football ability. I think it's quite telling that a manager like Dyche who focuses a lot on defence and structure is happy to move him on for a moderate fee.
Hope he does well, and admire him for making a bold choice to move abroad. Always like to see that.

I think he performed admirably last season, which was mainly out of position. However he made some crucial clearances that saved goals and his positioning for them made me think that there is a player there.
Wish him the best of luck, and the price seems about fair.

Wasn't Dyches preference was to keep him, but he wouldn't sign a new deal and only had 12 months left, so our hand was forced?

I dunno, was it?

Can we really say he is out of position at full back? RB and a CB in a 3 are the only positions where he's looked remotely competent for us.

I think his main attribute was outstanding athleticism but since his Covid and leg break, I'm not sure you could really say he particularly stands out there any more.
Rarely seen him time a header - he seems to jump under the ball more often than he connects - offers little to nothing going forward and isn't that reliable defensively.
But then, you look at the calibre of teams interested in him and start questioning everything you think you know about football.
I'm doubling down and going out on a limb to say I - we - know better than Atalanta and Borussia etc. They heard from United there was a cheap CB knocking about and have gone for the wrong one. I think it's telling that no-one (that we know of) in the PL is after him.
Nothing against him, seems like a nice lad and has always done his best for us. Thanks for your efforts and have a great time in Italy.

If European clubs can get a decent English player relatively cheap, it's a no brainer for them because -
1) The standard is higher in the Prem. It just is. So there's a reasonable chance they will be good in their league.
2) They will be able to sell that player back to the Prem for a sizeable profit, if they do even reasonably well.

It’s in the Irish media this evening that we want to swap Godfrey with o Brien of Lyon but Ben wants to go to Italy
