Moyes can’t and won’t work under a dof it’s been his downfall everywhere he wants control over everything and that day is gone he needs to be able to coach and integrate young players into the team and trust them and he won’t or can’t

Tbf though he's not wrong is he?
The game changed after that.
Yes but he had a choice as to dig out a youngster struggling with confidence or say as a team, we could have done x y or z but lost our momentum.

Said he played McNeil because he's trained really well the past couple of weeks.
Who knows if that means Dibling isn't pulling his weight but tbf as much as I'm criticising Moyes at the moment I wouldn't want him playing someone who's not showing willingness in training.
Moyes needs to sort his shit out though as he's underperforming as a manager and his arsey frustration isn't going to inspire a team to go out there and play with freedom and belief.

Is it not the managers job to ensure heads dont drop?
I would argue that the fact he chops and changes between Barry / Beto and makes it obvious he doesn't like either, is affecting this.
Heads drop because Barry now knows he is going to be subbed off and lost his opportunity. Thats way too much pressure for a young lad in a new country/league.
We were still winning, so I don't understand why the manager cant or wont focus on the positive at half time, tell them to forget the miss, move on, create more chances. Tell Barry he is the man and he believes in him etc you know, man management?!
Sunderland were always going to get into the game at some point and boss the stats but there should be a better approach to dealing with the pressure, being solid, and not shitting the fucking bed the minute a team puts us under pressure.

I'm glad he's training well because that cameo was as bad as I've seen from an Everton player!

Yeah it was awful, like I said earlier in the thread it was purely imo because Moyes thought the only way we'd score would be from a set piece, but he's not going to admit to that lack of ambition in his press conference.
Tbh I'd rather he just came out and said that was why or if it really is because Dibling isn't pulling his weight on training alude to it so at least we have some insight in to his thought process. Instead we all just roll our eyes and call out his bull shit.
Needs to remember why he did well when he came in last season, he was a breath of fresh air that allowed the players to believe in themselves... He's having the opposite effect right now with his attitude.

Not really Barry's fault that we were comprehensively over ran from the 30th minute. They had something like 12 unanswered shots following Barry's miss*. Ok yeah we might have spawned a win, says everything about him if he thinks that was the result he was after.
Moyes had plenty of time to change the game and couldn't. Needs to look in the mirror

Agree. We are in danger of blaming moyes for his selections while not acknowledging lots of the options might be really quite poor

It's not so much about Dibling as it is about why the fuck you put Dwight fucking McNeil on at that point, with Alcaraz also an option. McNeil who has for whatever reason looked like he's forgotten to play football in the last 6 months or so and who's been nowhere near the team in that time, and who has proved even more useless on the right, and who as was blindingly obvious he would be was fucking terrible when he came on.
McNeil was a bizarre choice in the circumstances
Ndiaye might be out for a bit, I’ll get McNeil some minutes in his legs for when he starts the next 3 games

I am not saying it was Barry's fault we drew the match only that Moyes is right that it was a pivotal moment, I don't think he's right to dig him out by name but he must be frustrated as the rest of us watching a pair of clowns upfront.
Bringing on McNeil was like watching the guy who won the charity raffle to get on the bench for a game and somehow got on, is he still technically a footballer? I don't know what I actually witnessed.

Time for a proper three in the middle now I think, give up on this pretend number 10 bullshit.
Garner, Gana and Röhl.

He ain’t deviating from 4231, and I don’t think he’s dropping kdh, as I’ve got a feeling that he was the only signing that was his pick.

I think what he said about the miss changing the game is spot on and fair enough to comment on but the way he appears to have handled it is really poor

Certainly away from home or when we're chasing the ball.
