Don't see any reason at all not to be starting him.

Who’s he starting for?

He’s not a ten

Tim shouldn’t come out

Garner can’t be moved from midfield

He did ok today, but the game was done and Brentford were happy to sit in and give us space.

Think he’s here to pad out the squad for a month then go back to Preston.

Who is our number 10 next game then?

Likely be Grealish and McNeil in the wide positions. Rohl looks rough. Alcaraz isn't fit. Be surprised if Armstrong isn't in the midfield with Tim and Garner.

Sounds basic but he’s always looking for the ball and always making himself available. Not a direct comparison but reminded me very much of Jordan Henderson. Both came on and offered similar things always available for the pass, and presenting an option. Sounds simple, but a massively underrated attribute

The weight of pass to thread it through to Garner was particularly impressive.

This is good stuff (I know Brentford were dropping their intensity level, but still)

The drive through the middle where he started directing rohl to make the right run showed the kind of player he is.

Id like to see him start in one of the two games we have this week but I wouldn't be shocked if that doesn't happen, moyes will be moyes.

I understand the Brentford dropping off comment, but also I think better judgement is how he looked compared to Rohl coming on in the same circumstances... One looked a premier league player and the other didn't.

Early days though, looks a player and someone we certainly can start getting excited about imo.

Yeah, very small sample size, but he looked on it (he has been playing more regular football than Röhl tbf to our German beanpole)

He was also the best player on the pitch in the pre-season games I caught, and in that league cup match.

I couldn’t see a thread for him but I think he deserves a shout out for that performance.

It was a very odd game, but I thought he acquitted himself really well in the first half and showed a lot of positives.

The loan to Preston has been a massive plus for his development, and ideally we can send him back there for the remainder of the season, with him fighting for a first team place next season.
