Selling Abraham to Besiktas, so think they're sound.

He’s a good player with some great traits even if he’s a bit erratic, a loan to buy could be a great move a la Lukaku back in the day.

Given how they have loads of talent to loan out and tend to massively overpay when they do buy we should be cosying up to them
Watching Chelsea in a transfer window is like me playing Football Manager. They sweep all continents for talents and loan out 90 percent of them. Unfortunately players tend to accept beeing a commodity for the wealthiest clubs today - which makes it even more difficult for us to buy potential world class talents.

Pretty sure Roma were up shit creek when the Friedkins took them over and this is a hangover of previous owners, so much the same as how they've acquired us.

It’s finally here! Hoping for some announcements already today that show me that they have been quietly and effectively working in the shadows.

Tell me you’re competent owners without telling me you’re competent owners.

I'm thinking we'll be very measured in terms of spending this season. We'll do enough to reinforce the squad because we have to. I'm expecting loans and maybe a striker as the main costs. Next season, with space to spend bigger is when we'll do that. I've never wanted to be more wrong like

Imagine if it’s just Keane signing a new contract.

Would be highly surprised to see any signings announced today. Will be expecting something over the next week or so though.

We can't be measured, we literally have to spend massive amounts of money because the squad is in the worst state in terms of quality and depth than it has been since the 90s.

If we don't spend a very healthy amount (not talking about getting £60m players), then we will be in huge trouble no doubt about it.

We can't get by this season on frees and loans alone. £100m won't touch the sides.

We're not spending over £100m, no way. I'd guess that we'll sign three players for good money, a few frees and some loans.

Based on the links we're seeing I'd guess something like:

Striker: £30m-£40m on somebody like Barry, Ferguson etc
Wide Forward: £15m-£25m on somebody like Richarlison, Fofana, Weah etc
DM: Buying £15m-£25m somebody like Diarra/Onyedika or a cheaper option like Ndidi/Longstaff for £10m
LB: Buy a young prospect for £10m who won't get much game time yet (Might not happen if we go with KWP as LB cover)

Free Transfer for full back depth of Tete or Kyle Walker-Peters.
Free transfer/Low fee for an experienced back up keeper
Either resign Keane as 4th choice CB or get another free for cover there

Sell Patterson and have O'Brien/Coleman as RB cover.

That would leave us with:

Barry (Beto)

Ndaiye (McNeil) Alcaraz (Armstrong) Fofana (McAtee)

Gueye (Iroegbunam) Onyedika (Garner)

Myko (New LB) Branthwaite (O'Brien) Tarks (4th CB) KWP (Coleman)

Pickford (New GK)

Probably keep one loan slot open for an exciting young AM/Winger and then send Armstrong back out on loan.

I think it will be a minimum of 100m. Possibly significantly more.

In an Ideal world we would like to see Iroegbunam, Chermiti and Armstrong all go out on loan again, but I think due to the sheer volume of players we need we may end up keeping them about as this Moyes generations Gosling, Anichebe and Rodwell

If we do get those Gana and Keane extensions it’s a start, free transfer veteran keeper and bump up Harry Tyrer to 3rd choice keeper seems easy enough

Then you really want majority of funds going on Striker, Winger and a right back I think

How much we spend will probably be dictated by how much we sell the women's team for
