More concerned with how he's now going to deal with Gueyes absence and want we will do during AFCON. Be a big test of his ability to adapt and hopefully he now sees Tim (who do be fair most wanted to start against Newcastle myself included), can't be starting generally.

I think the issue with it is that when we see him setting up so negatively and when we see players playing so negatively, and then he comes out with something so negative after a dry humping, that it seems more than ever that the issue is Moyes.
Not saying people aren’t happy when we win and pissed off when we lose, but there is a huge amount of negativity in the way Moyes conducts himself, and times like this just amplify it.

I get what you're saying but this probably only affects the fan base and not the squad which is his priority.
He could come out and criticise the players, be very angry at our performance and demand more which would make the fans happier, but also maybe not work on the players.
We've just had a remarkable win away to UTD and it's probably more productive to just be like 'meh was a tough ask to get anything from this game, but the next one we should be better in'.
Doesn't mean he's happy or even believes we shouldn't have been a lot better against Newcastle or that he felt we would probably not get anything from it, it just reframes a bad night to something that doesn't need much analysis and keeps the players confidence up ahead of the next match.
Press conferences mean absolutely nothing, managers pretty much never say what they really think, and I have no idea why people get annoyed by them. They aren't designed to be insightful for the viewer, they're just whatever the manager thinks will motivate the players or create the best damage limitation ahead of the next fixture. People treat them as gospel and then get angry or annoyed but they aren't a truthful insight in to the managers true feelings so it's all a bit pointless.

How is saying the squad is nowhere near being able to compete with newcastle not criticising the players

Which is bollocks. Of course we are able compete in a football match, at home, when they are struggling for form. Granted we probably can't compete over a season squad for squad but over 90 mins in a game of football, why not? Keith Andrews managed to get his distinctly average Brentford side up for it to spank them at home last time out away for Newcastle, with a team that were far below them in quality. We lost a game of football, it happens, just swallow it and move on. It's just Moyes unnecessarily deflecting again and reverting to his usual negative outlook.

Dreading Tuesday night now so much pace in their team hope he doesn’t double down on Tim

Because you're framing it completely wrong and not in any way how Moyes is with the squad.
'yeah that was always going to be a tough one lads, put it behind you because they're the better team. Let's win the next one as that's one we've got a great chance in if we play well'.
