The joke is that Young will be sent off against Villa.

Could have just been a knock that wasn’t worth risking?
Was a scrape down the Achilles, not a knock, he hobbled off, doubt we will see him for a few weeks.

He should be retired from internationals. What’s the point to any of this if he’s our only fit right back and he’s still getting injured in meaningless international friendlies. Infuriating.

I think the kind of guy he is, if his country says ‘we need you’ he will do it. And I don’t blame him either.

Was criminal to leave him alone exposed to Gordon on the wing, was like taking a knife to a gunfight.

Very cool that it should be considered cruel to leave our best, starting RB 1-v-1 in a game against an academy winger we sold who now hates us.

Why on earth have we never addressed this need? It's mind boggling.

I’m guessing that someone within our inept hierarchy thought that we had addressed this with the signing of Patterson and Young.

Think the remit was to get young Patterson, but was misread.

Feels a bit selfish or stupid seeing as he's just back from injury. I'll forgive him because he's Coleman

Surely this has happened on several occasions, being injured for Ireland when he has just got back from injury at Everton

Don’t know why people are questioning the Ireland thing he is captain of his country and a proud Irish man he owes Everton nothing other players would have left for bigger clubs years ago and he stayed and was a model pro yeah he got his leg broken playing for Ireland but that could happen in any game should keep playing until after this qualification campaign then go on his own terms

Yeah I agree but did he really need to play the whole game
