Was so frustrating to watch. Found myself thinking when Rohl went on that little charge and got to like 40 yards out and stopped that If he would have just pea rolled it straight at Raya I would have been more satisfied then him just stopping and passing backwards

That Alcaraz shot that flew wide just after the Barry pen incident was the only attempt I remember us having all game

Definitely part of it is to do with Moyes approach to these types of games , though I do also appreciate it was a tough ask with the players we had out

Their goal was like half an hour in, so with a full hour left it felt like we just went ‘ah well let’s just try keep it at 1-0’ - which is majorly depressing, and also angered me considering I’d paid £70 to watch it!

With the players available, playing top of the league what was anyone expecting?
I'm fine with it.

But he's pleased with it.

Does anyone think the Arsenal players were on the coach/plane home going "Lads, bloody hell that was a tough one"?

I'll be surprised if that isn't their easiest away match of the season so far.
I was surprised to see that they came and went by plane, just as I was arriving at John Lennon Airport at 11.30pm via Merseyrail from Sandhills to Liverpool South Parkway and the number 86a bus to JLA (Hampton Inn) their Ellisons Hospitality coach was arriving having been escorted by two police outriders, must have had a bit of a stay behind at BMD. Can’t imagine flying to Luton or Stansted would be any quicker than just staying on the coach back to London.

What's a bus to London, 4-5 hours? Charter flight, straight on, no queues from JLA to London about 30-40 minutes maybe.

I hate how he uses his bench.

For all the things I like and respect about him, he remains one of the worst in the biz on this front.

If we have problems that “try harder” won’t solve, they aren’t getting solved mid-match.

Could easily have lost that 0-3 last night without them getting out of first gear or looking anything special. Don't see any positives in that performance at all.

Just a pointless match in more ways than one.
A lower league team would’ve got physical with them as well, get stuck in, hassle them, try and put them off their game. We gave away what, three fouls the whole game whilst they racked up a season high number of passes

A lower league team playing them in the cup would have literally nothing to lose.

A point against one of the best teams in Europe, whilst we're playing our B side, is something to plan for, and arguably should have acheived. Consistency of performance is another. Some of these games are going to be played at our level, not the possible/likely champions' level. We certainly won't be outplaying them at their game and winning.

And he's merely trying to keep some positivity going in what appears to be, after the last half a decade, an exhausted and disillussioned fanbase that want a dopamine hit rather than sustained improvement to performance, and a tired squad that just want better.

Well I drive it in average 3.5 hrs, at that time of night definately no more, would, have taken them 30-40 mins from BMD to JLA , no way can you get up and down to LON in 30-40 mins, they don’t clear air space for Arsenal, then from Stansted or Luton to their training ground in Conley , where they will have met and left their cars, doubt they gain more than an hour if that, rather than just napping on the bus.

What are you specifically upset by? The environmental impact? The cost? The fact that the time saving is not as significant enough to make it worthwhile?

Their flight took 32 minutes by the way. Easily checked on Flightradar if you're really in to their flight.

Not upset in the least by anything, it was simply an observation.
