Crazy how we've brought our wage bill down by £25m odd and it's still about £25m too high.

Sad to say but we need to survive this season and next. After that we'll turn the corner on revenue - probably going above £210m, meaning our wage bill could be slightly lower than it is now and we'll be sustainable.

Can't get my head around it. There's absolutely nobody left, the squad is awful, and we still have a wage bill >£150m.

Seen a couple of reports saying Simms was included in these accounts. Kean was in the previous year's (2021-22).

The Echo say Beto and Chermiti were signed with no upfront payment, so there will be no fees for them in the current financial year (2023-24).

Interest payments on all that debt is what will kill us. So much danger, and no actual leadership to steer us clear. I'd put "The Wall Odds" up to 35-40% now.

Would that not have been Kean's loan fee? Did we bank the future sale at the end of the loan period early?

Some of these people (Moshiri, DBB etc) need to be very careful not to show their faces in Merseyside for a long time. Of course I'm not advocating violence in any way, but a completely fabricated headlock would be the least of their worries the amount of destruction they've caused and the anger that has been created.

A report in the Financial Times states that regulators in the US states of Utah and South Carolina are ‘moving to force five insurers to cut their exposure’ in 777 Partners.

That prompted a response by the firm reiterating that they have the necessary resources to meet the obligation set out in their proposed purchase of Everton.

The 777 statement read: “As it relates to the proposed acquisition of Everton FC, 777 Partners is confident in its ability to fund both the transaction and the club’s three-year business plan, the details of which it has provided to the Premier League as part of its ongoing process of regulatory approval.”

Seems to have been the full fee for Kean:

Profit on the disposal of player registrations was £47.5m, a decrease of

I'll be surprised if Moshiri ever goes back. Probably skips the opening of the new ground.

Way down from 20/21 but yea the issue now is we have some deadweight contracts but all clubs do. Most clubs are going to have an Alli or Gomes sucking wages for no benefit.

We do have overpaid players like Holgate, Keane, Godfrey, Young who need to leave yesterday. Of course, they also need to be replaced but can't imagine we can't find a third and fourth choice centerback for less than what we pay them.

The biggest issue is revenue - we simply need it to go up by 30% to ensure we remain competitive in the prem. BMD will help with some of that but we are going to need to improve our revenue generation somehow or become experts at finding gems like Brighton.

They probably have half their squad on less than £15k/week and they would all walk into our team.

I think we survive this season but we continue to circle the drain. If the quality at the bottom end of the league is slightly higher next season we are in trouble. We will need to replace one or both of Branthwaite/Onana with lesser players and perform better than we have this season. That seems unlikely to me although too hard to make predictions now as the summer and takeover can bring big changes.
