Quite honestly, we could survive by selling Onana and Branthwaite, but it would completely ruin any chances we have of progressing forwards.

We would be well clear of relegation this season if it wasn’t for the points deduction and that’s also with not being able to win a game in 12 games. And our Xg being incomprehensibly awful. Next year will be tougher but you have to hope that these things will start evening out. Just being optimistic.

I can only salute all of our fans that go to every home and away game and support the side through it all. That’s the definition of through thick and thin. Hearing them at the very top of the Newcastle stand last night on a Tuesday evening supporting the team is some effort.

What is going on in the Premier League

Must be the wages that are finally biting home to pretty much every club, bar the very top three. When Villa and spurs start to have to sell players it’s clear the model isn’t working, and something has to change.

There must be a cap on salaries coming soon - clubs right across Europe are fucked and that’s with huge TV deals and unprecedented ticket and merchandise costs

Not sure how the game got into this mess or how best to get out of it

Nah spurs will be fine, a lot of that will be infrastructure stuff that has no bearing on PSR, and when the prem moves to a revenue model they will be well placed to cement themselves further ahead of any upstarts.

Fanatically well run club.

Wasn't really a question about Brighton in particular. More does that profit just disappear from a ffp standpoint after 3 years. Even though the money would obviously not disappear

£75m of that loss for spurs is infrastructure related and is exempt from FFP regs. So their reporting loss for that is £13m. Well within limits. They're a really well run club.

Even if that wasn't the case, rules change this August to a wage based rule (people are guessing) and Spurs are doing pretty well in that table as well:

The moves they're making now look like the right ones to right the ship, but they're still years away from challenging City and Liverpool again.

Makes a farce of the new rules they’re proposing, massively skews the league even more than the current situation

Say they bring in 85% cap of revenue can be spent on wages & transfers

Anyone already over 85% on wages needs to chop their wage bill whilst spending nothing

Meanwhile Man Utd go from a limit of £105m loss over 3 seasons just like everyone else, to being able to spend almost £200m per season (so £600m over 3 seasons)

Someone ambitious and well run like Brighton go from £105m losses over 3 seasons (so can spend quite a bit due to their sales and profit) to limit of £40m per season or £120m over 3 seasons unless they massively increase revenue further
