I do think though he could be anything from wide player to a ten to an eight. Think long term he'll be a good buy, but it's one we have to be patient with.

Should we have bought a rapid winger with potential? Who knows, probably wouldn't have played either if he was just potential so doubt we'd have got anything extra from doing that.

Barry scored double figures in La Liga and Beto had a good 2nd half to the season... Probably seemed like we could play Beto and ease Barry in over time but that's not panned out. Could we have bought a better striker for now at the price we bought Barry for? Maybe, but we also weren't expecting him to be a starter so can understand the logic in the signing.

Surely we can get something off the fact that hes had such little game time. We do this with numerous players. Mainly they arent playing because they dont deserve to be playing. Hes behind mcneil. That's telling

You think it means them not playing at all. Am I being bedded in?

You could have said the same about Baines in his first year with us, but he ended up being the best attacking full back in Europe.

If that tells us anything it's that patience and trusting the manager's approach can pay serious dividends.

They were all awful signings. Doesn't mean this lot are any good either though

Genuinely don't understand what you mean sorry,?

I dunno if my post was misunderstood but I'm saying our previous attempt at buying 'here and now' players put us in dire financial straits?

I think we had a dreadful window personally.

But
Aznou is a potential top lb
Barry a potential v good cf
Dibling a potential v good forward

And we're in no danger of going down. We're doing fine, over exceeding in some cases. So where's the fire?

Maybe Barry kicks on, maybe he's sold to Brest.

Maybe Dibling kicks on, maybe he's sent back to Southampton.

Etc. but that's fine? We are fine. We are doing fine and working towards a younger better squad.

I want another £100m+ in the summer please, and we go again.

Exactly.

We’re doing fine, no danger at all of going down, possibility of europe.

In a perfect position to bed in some young players, let them fail, let them learn, let them develop.

We have also signed KDH and Grealish who have made a huge impact but it’s all dead money.

If we sign Grealish you’re looking at a lot of dead money, same with KDH.

That’s fine, you need to sign players like that, but it needs to be complimented with players like Dibling and Barry who you hope you can profit on in years to come.

Grealish and KDH are the model pros who set the tone and level of expectation for everyone.

I think the dead money is worth it to show the next generation the habits they need to develop to reach the top.

We really need to learn to be patient with young players the stuff written online about Barry is awful from so called Everton fans guy is trying hard up top totally isolated a lot of the time dibling will be a great player just needs to be given a run in the team everything is going ok no need to go out and blow money on prem ready players a couple of good loans and maybe a player from the championship hopefully Hackney and we will be good

I got that up until you randomly threw free transfer Wayne Rooney in, why? Literally nothing like any of the others, just seemed to be tossing a name in

Iwobi was more of a financial loss 🤷‍♂️

Oh I had in my head we paid £10m for him and he was our highest earner, I must be wrong on that sorry.

I love Rooney and he was even ok in his second retirement stint.

But...like should we be signing 30+ year old superstars on their way to the MLS who will leave without making us a penny? You tell me.

Sorry if I upset you with my edgy Wayne Rooney name dropping.

I think we're doing ok, but it feels very fine margins at the moment with the way the league is. For example, had we not won that crazy game at Old Trafford, we could've been sat in 15th only 2 pts ahead of Leeds and people probably would be more tetchy about some of the signings. Mind you, I guess you could say some other random result the other way and we're near CL positions...I guess I'm just not putting a lot of weight (positive or negative) in the league position currently while it's a bit all over the place.

I think I would've liked to see something more of Aznou and Dibling by now, ideally Rohl too but injuries were an issue there. Although it's hard at the same time to really press their case when we've seen little to really get behind in whatever small moments they've had...but they do need game time.

I hope we can identify maybe a really good loan to buy deal for the fullback areas, thinking of a Digne/Deulofeu sort of situation where a player is looking for game time as I do think there we want to try and keep the forward momentum up. Plus all too often our summer deals don't happen until late in the window so they're still bedding in by the time next season starts.

The general air around the club is more positive and feels like we're moving in the right direction, so I think we should be looking to keep that rolling and take advantage of that by trying to sign some additions this window.

Will never happen with Moyes in charge but I'd love us to lineup like this next season:

-----------------------------Pickford

-----------------JOB--------Tarks------Branthwaite

LWB------------------Garner----Armstrong----------RWB

-------------------Dibling-------------------Grealish

------------------------------------ST

*LWB, RWB and ST new players.

I'm basing this on Ndaiye leaving in the summer as I've already made peace with that fact it'll happen. Otherwise Ndaiye in for Dibling.

Would prefer us to play the LWB on the left and the RWB on the right tbh
