The one thing I would say is that we haven’t sold any top players this year (yet). That is a huge positive.
On one hand yes, but the other im not sure. We need to be much more savvy at getting rid of players at the right time, other teams do it. Is it good that we potentially play hardball with Ndiaye and keep a player that doesnt want to be here - im not sure.
Garner, Picks, Ndiaye, Branthwaite should all bring decent money, and we shouldnt be afraid to look to move them on if the price is right. Intelligent player trading is probably the only way we progress, we arent going to be able to spend 2 billion like City did to break into the upper bracket, so we need to be smart. I think we are a long way off being smart, but that has to be the aspiration.
I dont think what Newcastle have done is a positive and think they might struggle, but there situation is slightly different as they had loads of players that wanted out, but id have a lot more confidence in Villa as im not sure there is a better manager in the league than Emery

Everton’s number one target at right-back remains Guéla Doué from Strasbourg, and the club are prepared to hold out for their preferred option.
Naturally, Everton have a number of alternative targets lined up, many of whom have already been mentioned or linked. However, the priority is making sure they bring in the right player and, more importantly, the right fit for Everton Football Club.
Every target will have their own value, strengths and weaknesses, and much will depend on how negotiations develop. If a deal for Doué ultimately can’t be done, Everton have other options they can turn to.
But as things stand, Doué is the clear front-runner and Everton’s first-choice target for the position.

Question is then how long do we wait if he’s holding out to assess options.
Or is it an issue with Strasbourg? Are they asking for more than we can offer..?

I suspect he's the top of our list, we're probably bottom of his. If the other 10 options fall through he might sign for us - that's the issue
