Most people from his part of the world support liverpool or man United.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he is a liverpool fan but we do seem to have an obsession with claiming players or managers are kopites.

We are manifesting him going to liverpool which I find very strange.

Genuinely don't believe Libpewl can afford him.

Not so much that they can't, but their owners are very strict and stringent in the transfer market, they won't pay what we are asking I wouldn't think.

Think He'll go to Madrid myself.

If Liverpool came in with an £80m bid, we'd sell and he'd go. Think people need to be realistic here. If say Real or Bayern also came in at the same time then fair enough that might make a difference... But he's not going to turn down Liverpool in the hope that at some point X or Y team come in for him.

The best we can hope for is that any bid around our valuation prompts other teams to bid too.

I do get what you are saying but if Liverpool want him it should cost them more than any other team, they won't want to pay what we would want, it's not impossible I just don't think that's where he will end up,

A player of his ability should have more than just the red shite interested so unless they are the only suitors and I am pretty sure they won't be then it's easy to just reject any approach they make unless it's a stupidly big offer,

I don't see him downing tools like Gordon did, he doesn't seem like the kind of lad to kick up a fuss and try force a move to them,

Anyway he would look like a bad knob in red

Yeah agree with all that, I just think the price we want doesn't usually involve multiple teams bidding, usually it's just one so let's all hope that doesn't involve Liverpool.

Needs to get fit and playing regularly as a first point of call anyway so hopefully his delayed start to the season puts off any potential suitors till the summer.

I stayed in an air bnb in the lakes and the couple that own it are best mates with his parents.

Had a great chat about him and his career so far.

Said that unfortunately he grew up a kopite.

I don’t know if the new owners want to start off with selling our best player to the redmen.

There are Premiership players all over the league playing for clubs that weren’t their childhood teams, of course there are, they are professional footballers and they work for whichever outfit offers them the best career opportunities (and money)
Branthwaite has about 8 years to play at peak performance and obviously wants honours, he could have a CL, Premier League os FA cup winners medal within 5 months depending where he went, he can’t wait five years to possibly win a Europa Conference league medal with us.

I don't think anyone is expecting him to stay long term

I don't think he will be off in January as no one really spends that kind of money in that window

I think he will see out the season then go in the summer hopefully to real Madrid so we don't have to play against him

No I don’t think there’s any danger of him being off in January either, just saying that boyhood allegiance means fuck all when it comes to career decisions, he’s got 8 years to set himself up for life, not going to waste too many of them hanging around a mid table club. I do however have a worrying feeling that any interested parties will be paying close attention to his injury record over the next 7 months or so ?
