Obviously happy to be proven wrong and definitely wish Dele the best but we should be thankful he's no longer on the books and be moving on. Would be utter fools to offer him a new contract.

Just depends on the numbers, give him £10k a week and a one year deal and there's absolutely nothing to lose.

It'd also mean we kept our duty of care for the player instead of him retiring and sinking potentially in to a dark place, or signing for someone else with the expectation of him contributing.

Just have to find a deal that is really low and doesn't have any real impact on our finances or ability to sign someone else.

Let’s be honest, he isn’t signing anything for less than £50k and definitely nowhere near £10k

Then he would be out and have to find somewhere else to play.

At the end of the day the chances of him contributing anything over that season are extremely low so £50k a week would be a total waste of money.

We're essentially paying him to do physical rehab and probably mental too... So I wouldn't be offering anything even close to £50k.

However I would tell him that we'd be renegotiating in 12 months time, so it'd be up to him if he is able to get to the stage where he could earn more.

Not sure offering him £50k a week even does him any favours given that's over £2m a year regardless of how he dedicates himself to his rehabilitation.

Has to be £10k a week and then attractive appearance fees, with renegotiation after 12 months. Give spurs ?% sell on fee.

We’re actively shifting the lads on big wages so it’s surprising to see us potentially renewing his. There must be something impressing them because it would be far easier to just cut him loose.

Can't imagine he'll be on big wages anymore. Think it will be a 1 year deal on less than half. Seen nowt of him and I'd still rather it was him than games

I'll be annoyed if it's a ridiculous contract, but if it's a fair one that fits into a new structure then fine.

I'd be amazed if it was anything remotely close to the 100K a week he was reportedly on before.

I have no problem letting him be a "trialist" and training with the team, playing in exhibitions. Get him in a good mental space, and find a new/permanent club.

He's completely wrong for where we are as a club, and I'd be interested to know what player ever takes a 75-80% wage cut (without moving clubs/down the pyramid), like some are foolishly assuming.

We feel like mugs for paying his insane wages for 2.5 years and getting fuckall for it. So...we're doubling down. Look, I have a compulsive personality (like to gamble, etc.), I get it. But it's foolish to run a business this way.

So just ignore the 100k a week we've given him for doing nothing for two years and judge the deal on the 50k a week we'll give him for the next couple of years.

He's a busted flush and once again only EFC fail to see it.

Imagine Coleman and young have both taken significant reductions. I think it doesn't happen often because clubs don't often renew players who haven't done well

No one is paying deli Ali more than 50k a week do he won't be getting more here. Not sure why he's wrong for where we are as a club. He's cheap and I assume we believe we can make use of him

Let's give him a chance. Let's at least see what the deal looks like
