Whether legit or agent nonsense, being linked to Soucek feels bad.

We need quality on the ball next to Gana and behind the striker.

I like physical players, I like players who put a shift in, but this team needs something extra to compete for European places. Soucek would basically be a like-for-like Doucoure placement with a slightly less terrible age profile.

I wouldn't be in to Soucek but at £12m Vs £30m+ for Jacob Ramsey I could see the logic.

I'd rather we paid £12m for Soucek and £30m on a RW than the other way round (i.e. £30m a number 10 and £12m on a RW).

It's most likely the same as most rumours, especially those where it's linking a manager to a former player, completely made up. So doubt we need to really worry to much about this one.

🗞️Everton have enquired about Atletico Madrid Winger, Samu Lino. Several teams have enquired but Everton have taken the most decisive step and are considering a move

The Brazilian is not in Diego Simeone’s plans.

We might have ruined him, we've certainly played a part but when given a chance he's done nothing to suggest he's of the required quality either end of the pitch

The best we can do is loan him to a side with a good chance of promotion with an obligation to buy. He's not going to make it here
Agree. Moyes took a look at him at the end of last season and it didn't exactly suggest he was going to be our RB this season. The last we saw of him was against Ipswich and he was subsequently dropped for Young. Even when Coleman got injured in the last home game it was Young who came on. I think loan him out and get a right full in pronto who can hit the ground running.

I hear Lino plays very well on the floor.

Never gets caught offside but he flags every game.

Lino is ok, but I prefer Cheetara.

Looks like he can play wing back too, didn’t have many games there last season though. Looks like he played a few positions over the season too

Lino mostly used as a left winger or sub (which WhoScored does not track positionally) last season but played some CM and LB.

Main position isn’t really a priority, dubious whether he’d be an upgrade on Mykolenko at LB (probably not if it’s not his main position).

Fine for a loan as a utility man to flesh out the squad. Don’t see him markedly improving the starting eleven though.

Also, I think if he was Moyes would have boxed that off early, because Souchek would jump at it. If it's not happened I don't think it will.

Everton have beaten off competition from West Ham in the race for Douglas Luiz.
The toffees are closing in on a loan with a buy obligation for the Juventus midfielder.
