I'm optimistic. They'd have to set fire to everything literally to underperform moshiri and kenwright. It appears they are going to secure our future. That and midtable is great for a few years

Unfortunately all of the money they have invested, the Conference League trophy they won, the fact that they have improved the finances of the club, and brought in big names, has been completely forgotten."

Quote from the article there.

So, yeah, they were very much liked until they messed up the manager situation this season.

Just the fickle nature of football fans in general tbf. They were great owners when they were investing and the team were having some relative success. Unfortunately, a couple of unpopular decisions and all of a sudden they are toxic.

Note that the rot started when they sacked Mourinho. I would say that it probably started earlier than that when they appointed him. It's always going to end in tears where Jose's involved.

DeRossi? Yes, club legend he may be, but if he's not performing to the standard that his employer wants, then as cruel as it may seem, he has to go. Would we go into meltdown if Duncan Ferguson was appointed, then sacked because we weren't winning every week? I suspect not, but Italian football is a completely different beast and Italian fans a completely different species.

It may well have worked out in the end with DeRossi, but I guess the owners were not willing to wait any longer.

Was doing great but they haven't been value for money these last 10 games.

Had forgotten about this, extract from an article in The Times today, another issue for Friedkin to deal with.

For example, Burnley are still involved in a compensation claim against Everton relating to the Merseyside club's six-point de-
duction for breaking Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) in the 2021-22 season. The first judgment in the Everton case was in November 2023 and sources with knowledge of the process said it could be another full year before
there is an outcome.

This bit from Mina Rzouki's article echoes some of what I was saying the other day re: the unique challenges of running Roma -

''There is no harder club to manage in Italy than Roma, mostly due to the endless noise surrounding it.

Fabio Capello accomplished many great things in his managerial career - notably thrashing Johan Cruyff's Barcelona in the 1994 European Cup final with AC Milan - but some believe his finest achievement remains winning Serie A with Roma - amid the debates, critiques and scrutiny of an obsessive fanbase and city''

I bet their fans hate that the group have bought into a PL team.

Friedkin's stock has gone way up again between 777 and Textor situations even with the manager mess at Roma.

Hopefully wrapped up soon.

We’ve hit the jackpot with the new owners.

I think people need to have a look at what the alternatives were.

They have their own money and a lot of it and will be clearing a lot of the debt.

All the other jokers were scrambling around looking for pennies behind the couch trying to buy us.
