£50m a year saved in interest payments due to the new financing.
Massive change to our PSR outlook.

Obviously changes the balance sheet but didn't we leave all the interest on the stadium borrowing off the psr calculations anyway. Thought that was the part that dragged over to this year

Oh yeah good point, forgot about that.
Well at least removes the possibility of future conflict over it but yeah, no change to PSR

Improves cash flow though, which is more important in the real world

Were we seriously paying £50m a year in interest, surely not.

We had several lines of credit and a bunch of weird debt, of which, the one with the lowest interest rate was 10%, so that figure of 50m for annual interest payment isn’t outlandish. I mean, its still a crazy position to have been in but modus operandi with the previous folks in charge

It was a necessary evil though. Originally, Moshiri had pledged to fund the stadium himself. Then War broke out in Ukraine and his mega-rich sugar daddy was sanctioned and we no longer had the money available. We were already balls deep in the stadium development, so there was very little option but to go and source funding from whoever would offer us some credit. Unfortunately, we discovered that beggars can't be choosers when it comes to asking for hundreds of millions of pounds in loans, so we had to take whatever offers were available to ensure that the stadium build was completed. It was either that, or shelve the building works for a while, still incurring the costs of the site, absorbing ever spiralling costs of materials and praying for an unexpected massive cash windfall to come our way, which was never realistically going to happen.
We got our buyer because we have a shiny new state of the art stadium to move into. Without BMD, we'd still be looking for investment and still trundling along in our 130 odd year old stadium with no new income streams available for us to take advantage of.
TFG being able to come in and refinance the debt, on far more favourable terms just means that it's turned out quite well considering. Short term pain for long term gain.

Can't believe this is still ongoing
Everton and Burnley have been embroiled in a legal battle in a precedent-setting claim.
The Clarets are seeking compensation from the Blues after their breach of Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), which contributed to the Turf Moor outfit’s relegation.
Fuck off

Weren’t the rules we were in breach of recently declared as void? So they’d be suing us for breaking non-existent rules.

The City outcome is dropping sometime in March. That will be fascinating.
