I have no doubt that he’ll keep us up, I also have no doubt that I’ll only actually enjoy watching us for about 10 minutes per 90.

At some point we have to move away from expediency and hope for something better

Been all gravy since we sacked allardyce hasn't it. Absolutely shouldn't move dyche on until we've got the means to significantly change the squad. Giving someone else this squad is setting them up for failure

I don’t know if I 100% agree, we’re a pair of fullbacks short of a solid mid table squad.

The point is moot though, it’s not worth the risk as the reward is minimal - Dych will have us 17th-14th at the end of the season and even a perfect replacement would have a ceiling of like 10th. It’s also not worth paying him off when his contract is up at the end of the year.

We need to absolutely can any talk of offering him a new contract and a chance to spend whatever funds we may have - that would be madness

Will absolutely be grateful for his part in us staying up during a nightmarish time, but cannot wait for the day the club moves beyond Dyche and managers like Dyche.

The experience of watching us under him is almost always excruciating, and his type thrives in an environment where expectations are incredibly low and where he can gaslight us into thinking that we can't do any better and that we're foolish to hope for any better.

Don't disagree with that completely but let's be able to invest in them players before we change managers. A decent midfielder too though

Give a fuck, all I want is to move into BMD as a Premier League club and then let the Friedkins take it from ther, Dyche kept us up last season and will do so this season then he can sail off into the sunset.

We’ve got decent midfielders already, you could put Bruno Guimares in our midfield and we’d look no different as it’s a tactical choice.

I give him every credit for picking up the pieces after Frank, for having to deal with the worst boardroom in the Premier League (and most other leagues), for working minor miracles in reducing the wage bills and helping to bring home some financially positive transfer windows, but…

I know I’m bordering on madness here but I do think another manager with a more positive philosophy would get a better tune out of this squad. I’m not saying he’d have us playing outrageous total football and charging up the table, but at least have us playing watchable football with no worse results than we currently achieve. I don’t think for one moment that the best we can manage is 40% possession (is there a team in the league we won’t sit back against and give up possession to? At Goodison?), that we are so desperate (brain-washed?) we applaud when we put more than 3 passes together. I like Dyche, I appreciate what he’s done for us but, god, I look forward to next season and a different style and approach.

Exactly right, but the likes of Doucoure and Harrison would look out of place for Fulham, but like you said, it's choice. We chose to play without the ball, so we just need runners and energy to try to stop the opposition. It'll eventually be his downfall that he continually picks these types of players over others that could contribute so much more

I think there's a real danger they we get significantly worse results trying to play better football with this squad. Feel moving dyche on before we can make significant investment might risk relegation again

Do other teams have slow wingers, defensive fullbacks and midfielders who can't do the basics. I don't think it's a foundation to do anything but grand out points

I agree style is not high on the list of priorities, when we're not wanting to drop the golden egg of premiership survival.

Expectations are that we'll probably scrape safety to lower mid table, and there's nothing that suggests we're currently much better than that.

The idea that we'll be back in Europe or even playing free flowing footy in midtable, outplaying superior technical and physical opponents with such a disjointed and quality deficient squad in a year or so, is us gaslighting ourselves.

When in the last 20-30 years have we even chanced that, with a decent squad and one time with the world's best manager? Ancelotti himself has said he basically set Everton up to bang it long to our best player, and he had a much better squad than we have now.

Survival for the next 1-2 seasons is imperative, and I couldn't care if it's turgid in the interim if it means we have a chance to get back on track.

Possibly right, especially under the current stewardship. I don't think Dyche knows how to set teams up in a more attacking, proactive way, so chances are results will be worse, but I do think this squad is capable of much better football than some of the stuff we put out.
I don't think we should be looking to move him on ATM and we need to ride this shit out, but 100% I wouldn't renew his contract
