And when we've finished poaching Liverpool's best young players, there's Arsenal, Chelsea... Winnersh, yeah?

United want to swap Hojlund for Luiz…
Swap deals never happen. They are even less likely to happen now we live withing PSR.

Doesn’t make for good reading at all.
As much as Everton would like to secure players for their priority positions, and are working to do so, there is an element of taking what you can get.
That’s an actual quote from the article.
Sounds like expectations in the club have sunk and we’re already scrambling around.

So literal
Fine, Juve buy Hojlund for £60m, United buy Luiz for £60m
For all intensive purposes a swap, happy days for PSR

I would like to officially announce the opening of my Flapping Season.
Brothers join me, cast away your "high quality" narratives and sing as one - the club have once again, fucked it up.

Seemingly West Ham have a bigger pull than Everton, no reason why we couldn’t have been in the running for Walker Peters other than he was dead set on West Ham, a proven RB that can also play LB on a free, what more could you ask for.

They’re paying him 90k a week.
He isn’t worth that

Fair enough, didn’t think it was that much, definitely a 50/60 though.

Yes, they’ve won a European trophy recently?
Maybe he wants an extortionate wage that we don’t want to pay that West Ham do?
Also he’s born in London and lived in the south his whole life?

It's a nothing article... It basically says we tried to get Tete but he stayed at Fulham and we're prioritising other areas first because we have 3 players who can play RB in the squad.

Is it really a nothing article or does it just say things you’d like to ignore?
Paddy boyland has been tempering expectations all summer through his articles and podcast.
I’m more inclined to believe this than another “£150m war chest” article
Signs have been there from the off that were not confident of having a great summer.

I'm willing to give them to the end of the window but it's not great that we don't seem to be very far along. Hopefully they prove us wrong

Yeah it's a nothing article, seriously what's it say other than we are prioritising other areas of the squad but haven't managed to land a player who went to RB Leipzig instead?
I also don't for a second believe the £150m wat chest article either.
I think it's pretty much just a normal window where we have a certain amount to spend and have to balance each signing financially which is why we can't move on to a different position until we've finalised a deal for whatever one we're working on.
We wanted a striker, we finally got one, now we are trying to do the Luiz deal but it's proving difficult and we can't buy a winger until we've secured Luiz or walked away. It'll be done in a very linear fashion so we don't overspend in one area and not be able to buy what we need in another.
We won't get our first choice and any deal will be a challenge because we want someone who's genuinely going to improve us, is the right age profile and we'll negotiate hard... All these things make a deal a lengthy process and will delay the next move we make.
I don't find this article alarming because it barely says anything other than we aren't probably looking at another RB at this point... We all understand it's not a priority Vs CM and RW, even an LB. The only reason we went for Tete was he was a freebie.

“we can't buy a winger until we've secured Luiz or walked away”
That’s mad.
We’ve got this whole transfer committee now, be a bit of a flaw in the make up of it if we can only do one deal at a time.
And they can’t be price dependant, surely everyone on our list for each position would be in a similar price bracket, or thereabouts.
