I'm not convinced his body will be up to it anyway. He's not played in the Prem for 2 years, and surely his body will break down regularly under the strains, if he even got a chance?

If he's ready to go into pre-season and be properly part of the squad then I might start to come around to it. If he's not then it's already a complete waste of time and money.

I know you are no fan of Onana but giving this guy a contract is going backwards we just got rid of Gomes who was a complete waste of money and still contributed way more than dele if he is replacing Onana in the squad we are short already

He’s not going to be replacing Onana though.

There is simply no connection between the two “possible” scenarios.

If his contract is run down, how can we still be obligated to pay spurs anything if we do reach an agreement with him?

Because it was in the original contract that we signed when the deal was done, so I'm assuming that must still be legally binding

Because lawyers aren't stupid and would have ensured any deal didn't allow us to not renew and then 'sign him' just after without that being viewed as a renewal of the original contract.

I think the only way around it would be if he signed for someone else, they released him and then we signed him.

Bit confused here, apart from the statement from Dyche that Ndiaye, Gana, Tarkowski, Myko and Branthwaite are recovering well from injury he says “Dele getting closer” Closer to what ? Playing for us ?
