Think people take issue with the implication that Dyche and this football is the only way to do the job he was/is tasked with.

Obviously these are only highlights and we somehow lost but yesterday seems like complete regression from a years ago when we played Fulham at home

Is anybody advocating sacking him mid-season? I think the majority are saying he’s done a great job picking up from the post Benitez/Lampard shit show and would agree any change this season would be mad.

However, I’m of the opinion that the survival first mindset and tactics, while necessary in the last few seasons, do not preclude another manager getting the same group of players to achieve the same or better results with a more watchable style. We’ve actually seen better football under Dyche than we are currently being served (even the 80 odd minutes against Bournemouth). Sadly, pretty much every half time this season we’ve been asking ourselves is that the worst half of football we’ve seen at Goodison.

I’d like to see a change at the end of this season and that’s no disrespect to Dyche but I think we need a change in the general mentality of the club from survival to progression.

The debate is probably moot anyway as it is highly likely new owners will mean a new manager come June next year.

I think it has been personally... We have a better squad this season so I accept that maybe there's an argument around this year and performances.

Last season in particular I don't think there's many managers capable of getting what he did out of that limited team in such difficult circumstances. People will argue the long winless run but the end result was all that mattered and he over delivered on what could have realistically been expected last season imo.

We sold onana for 50m. Branthwaite has played 1 game. Is the squad better? Wasn't it 48pts last season anyway? Plus how many other sides spent more than us

Kicking on is for teams who invest. Let's see the signs everton the club are kicking on before we expect the team to

Out of interest how would people rate Dyche per season on a scale of A-E like in school grades?

For me:

1st season - B+
2nd season - A-
3rd / current season - C

I don't quite buy in to that theory. The points deduction created an atmosphere around the club of us against the world, it was unprecedented and it galvanised us in a really difficult time. Without that, I don't think results would've been as favourable and so would the attitude to the turgid football.

He can't have all the points he won because of the points deduction. Nor can he have credit for all the points he won because of the positive affects of a points deduction

Think we played a better and more dangerous team yesterday. One that knew they could beat us at home, where last season they never really had belief until they discovered it, with some help, mid game.

Apart from perhaps Willian, this season's Fulham is superior to previous, much more attacking threat. Think it makes sense that we were more defensive, and didn't give the likes of Adama, Iwobi and Smith Rowe too much space to exploit, with our limited pace. Extra defensive solidity, especially given we've been poor in that area.

Momentum maintained, just.

Weird that the England job went by without him being linked whilst he hasn’t been linked with the Man United job yet.

Maybe Newcastle will go after him when they part with Howe.
