As an 80m player? Must have just been a pleasant surprise for me

Might as well stick it here rather than the 15 other threads talking about him, but in the interest of balance, I get that posters can get frustrated at other's sticking up for Dyche all the time but it's no worse than the posters constantly spamming the matchday threads and several other threads with constant criticism and sarcastic comments. I don't even believe the "I gave credit when he did well" comments because it's done grudgingly usually by people who can't wait to dive in as soon as Michael Keane's named in the squad for a pre season friendly.

It's a forum, have a dig, have a go at each other, criticise others and hopefully more than anything have a laugh with/at each other too but also have a bit of self awareness before coming across a bit patronising and making out that people with an opposing view are the ones in the wrong and constantly making the same points and I include myself in that before anyone has a go. :)

He was.

Was obvious to anyone who had seen him what a player he was going to be for us.

Considering we usually loan people to like Shrewsbury and stuff it was clear how different he was.

Plus ancelotti played him in the prem as a big tall child.

It was on the old forum but pretty sure I remember Branthwaite getting dog’s abuse when he gave a penalty away against Brentford(?) and got a straight red. Don’t recall many comments about him ever being worth 80m one day then…

There were plenty of comments from people including myself when he was playing in Holland and before that.

You could see from the off how great he was going to be.

He’d be thriving under any manager but I imagine playing under dyche has been very good for him.

Hell of a pen to give away by the £80m man.

That's added a few 0's onto his price for sure!
