I am a little concerned that everyone seems to expect us to stay up.
Poll was before the points deduction, I'll reset it.

I meant media in general.

We absolutely CAN stay up. It's up to us as fans to ensure that Goodison Park is super intimidating for visiting teams and ensure that the 11 on the pitch know that we are 100% behind them.
The manager has to create a real siege mentality in the dressing room and we must maintain our recent form.
The teams around us at the minute are particularly weak this season, so if we keep our momentum, there is no reason why we should fall adrift. We simply need to ensure that we win at least one more game than the rest of the bottom 4 and we will be fine.

I'm fully aware of the narrative. Just also aware of our record of fulfilling expectations.

That, and our ability to sustain such levels of performance on the pitch and vociferous support from the fans over the next 6+ months.
But on the flipside it'd have to be a bit demoralising for the bottom teams to see (hopefully) a team that copped -10 still being in and around within touching distance slowly pull away again. Like a second chance at not being relegated, slowly slipping out of grasp.

So we're probably quite likely to end up on around 30 points I think.
Going to be in the mix until the very end. Can't do a great deal more than what we're doing. Hopefully get some points back but...it doesn't feel like we are going to?
Just have to hope.

You think we will only get 14 more points?

Nah.
I'm far, far from worried.
We'll be absolutely sound.

26 points in the first 19 matches, 14 points in the last 19?
Going to need that one explained.

As long as our confidence doesn't get too affected, we maintain the levels of the first half of the season, I think we'll ease clear of any serious trouble and be around the 40-42 points mark.
We have accumulated 26 points. If we repeat that in the 2nd set of games, which there's no reason to think we won't, we get 42 points with the deduction. If you think about those early games we threw away at home as well, we might even be able to get more than 42.
Hugely disappointed at the moment obviously, but we can't forget how well we've been doing and saying we'll get around 30 points is mad to me, and ignoring all the evidence.

We'll get more than 30 but I'm not really feeling the over confidence that some were showing yesterday. We won 12 from 15 in our first five since we got docked the points, now we've lost two on the bounce, three if you include the cup and that little bit of momentum has gone. Despite the 12 points we're only one above Luton and still behind Forest who've been on an awful run but may now get a new manager bounce.
I still think we'll be okay but it's going to go down to the last few games and we now have another tough run of games coming.

Was always likely we were going to lose these two games.
But the manner in which we’ve lost them means nothing should change on how we feel about the team.

26 points from 15 matches because we threw away the opening fixtures by not bothering to buy anyone.
We'll get a minimum of 18-20 points over the final 19 games, but most likely more.
5 wins, 3 draws, 11 defeats would get us 18 points... That would put us on 34 which will be enough this year.
But we'll end on more than that, 18 is worst case scenario imo.

...no I think I have hugely fucked up my maths not for the first time.
We are probably looking at ten points more than that?? Is that right?
Maybe a few weeks on we will feel differently. I am still watching others results extremely closely tho. We feel very In The Conversation to me.
