Strange to spend 40million on a player to be sat on the bench. If you're not Chelski that is.
40mill is about 20mill though these days. Plus, young, talented, huge ceiling. Will get a lot of opportunities to develop and pin down a place.
Its literally nothing at all like Chelsea situation.

Could be wrong but I think he is talking about Dibling?

Not really. He's 19. There'll be plenty of opportunities for him, but he's not coming in with the entire club pinning their hopes on him, like would've been the case in the past.
It’s going to look strange that we’re slow-playing our most expensive signing of the summer but it’s absolutely the right call.
Southampton had to throw him in the deep end, we can pick and choose his starts and sub appearances to build his confidence. Bad form to throw a teenager you signed that week to defend a narrow lead in an away match and Moyes knows it.
Experienced pros like Grealish and KDH can go straight in. Dibling is probably going to make cameos while he integrates. Think he’s going to learn a ton off Grealish and KDH and will be ready to step up when fatigue and AFCON hit.

I think this lad comes in as a James garner upgrade eventually.

We all knew we couldnt fix everything in one window.
It's just that we thought right back would be the one we fixed first - not the only one we didnt fix
Moyes said all along we have multiple players who can play RB so he never saw it as a high priority.
Was always going to be one of if not the last position we tried to address after the Tete deal didn't happen... He was tall, defensively solid, low wages compared to someone like KWP and free. Probably the only one who we felt was worth pursuing who was on a free transfer and we didn't want to spend any actual money on one when it would have potentially endangered us buying for other parts of the pitch.

Loan with an obligation to buy at £20m seems like very good business to me.

Scored this late winner for them against Italy.
You have to wait a bit, great hit though.

Seems a tad on the expensive side. €12m valuation on transfermarkt, missed quite a chunk of games last season. Was linked with €20m moves in Jan. Has since lost his place as a starter for Freiberg. Seems strange he would now go for €25m. Could, and hopefully will be, a great signing though.

Really happy about this one if we can get it done. The only concern when he was mentioned a months ago was injuries and if he's back to how he was prior to those but hopefully he is now.
It's good to have an option of a different physicality in the centre of the pitch seeing how got a bit bullied there against Leeds. It seemed like we were trying to get Soucek on the cheap but when that didn't work out we've gone in this direction, which hopefully is actually the better option longer term.
Also, the name is great.
