Anything above £12m goes down as profit under PSR.

City 100% put that out to shape the narrative when they sell Grealish for a smallish fee.

Already done imo. He’s proper Everton.

They won't be able to afford 300k in wages in total when they're rightly languishing in Div2.

When do we find out City’s plight?

No one knows yet, some outlets were saying it was imminent over a year ago.

And he’s not reliant on pace.

Most important thing is how fit he has looked.

Played 90 nearly every single game, runs for days, does the off the ball stuff really well, hasn’t been injured or even picked up a knock.

My biggest worry when signing Grealish was it would be another Saha/James scenario where you’re constantly having to manage them because they’re finished in terms of their body holding together.

We’ve got an incredible opportunity here to have a genuine top, top class player on the books permanently.

If we have to go above and beyond on the wages or fee then just do it.

He’s fouled so regularly that he seems to have built up a resistance to it

Maybe I’m the odd one out in my thinking but I don’t see us signing anybody in Jan as I doubt we can afford it.

We got Rohl on a pay later deal, to me that signals we don’t have funds this year

It’s a bit frustrating that Dibling hasn’t played more but he strikes me as someone who’s going to learn from the bench for a season before we let him loose. Maybe not ideal when the deep midfield and fullback options are not great but you don’t control when mega talents like him are available. He could legitimately be several things, whether it’s a Grealish-like winger who protects the ball or a goal scoring number ten.

The committee certainly hasn’t done anything desperate. I expect whoever we target will be somewhere between rock solid for this level and legitimately good.
Have they really done well? KDH was admittedly a smart signing and Grealish was a no brainer as he wasn't going anywhere else as he wanted to stay in the north west but the rest you couldn't class as decent really. Barry still isn't up to speed and registered his first goal from his first shot on target in mid December, Dibling hasn't been anywhere near the first team, Rohl hasn't been used and looks to be injury prone and Aznou isn't ready for the first team yet. Over £80m of questionable signings with little to no impact, so far, there.
Any of those above could have been swapped out for a first team ready right back and we could have been a completely different team now. That position has been flashing red for literally years, it stuns me how bad we are at recruiting full backs.

No this is 100% what I think too. Unless someone leaves we'll be looking at loans and loans only.

I think so.

I like the intent behind all of these signings, I think more will be hits than misses, and that we’ll recoup much of what we’ve paid for the misses.

Talked about Dibling already. Barry 100% has the chops for this level and is only going to get better as he gets comfortable with the speed and physicality of the league. Aznou is typical Moyes cautiousness with young defenders but cost little and has big upside. I’ve liked the look of Röhl but he’s my biggest concern because of fitness, which seemed to be an issue for him in Germany as well.

It would be nice if more had hit the ground running or if we had gotten in a right back in but this is a significantly better class of business than what we’ve been doing and I don’t fear the damage we might do entering a new window like I consistently did under Moshiri.

Not such a bad thing in a World Cup year. Lots of players will be wanting some game time so might be able to do some smart business.
