I dont think it really matters, we wouldve probably signed up to an agreement that included an option to buy for 1 trillion if it got the deal done. An option is completely different from obligation and there is no way were going to be arguing over something that could be irrelevant in 12 months if it might jeopardise the deal now, especially in our current predicament.

Option to buy is always to the buyers benefit rather than the sellers. It's way too high but still slightly better than no option

We're also not spending £34m on a player in 12 months with our limited/non existent spending power.

Yeah it's definitely just to make the deal look legit and not like multi club ownership moving players around kinda thing.

Can't see why he'd be worth 40m euros like.

Or Textor is just going to launder some money through one club to another…

"Option to buy" probably the most pivotal part of that sentence

No wonder he flew in to the UK last weekend to meet with Mosh

This says it's an obligation to buy, slightly different bits on the transfer, but beggars can't be choosers

That’s the Mangala Effect.

Obligation at 40m would be a nightmare. Beggars can't be paying 40m for a player

We can absolutely choose not to spend £40m

I highly doubt our new potential owner is going to spend €40m of money we don't have on a player not worth that much even if it benefitted his other team.

It'll be an option, one we will never take up because we're essentially just moving players between clubs and trying to make it look more legit than just doing it without bothering to.
