Been a great player for us .
I was being silly for the sake of it. I don’t rate him but understand we’d have struggled without him. He’s fine for free.

Grandad is a year older than stones and four years younger than half a dozen top Premiership defenders, but hey, he was on a free wasn’t he so must be shit.

Great defender and someone I liked at Burnley. Good old fashioned centre half

Very much dependent on who is next to him. Does well with Jarrad but has been crap to awful alongside Keane and Coady previously.

Would be interesting to see how good Branthwaite would be alongside Coady.

Fulham paid up to £30m this summer for Joachim Anderson at 28 and we signed 29 year old James Tarkowski on a free and I’d say they’re similar in quality. Good solid premier league defenders. He’s been a brilliant piece of business really if that’s the going rate these days

Andersen is a fair bit better but still Tarks was a good deal.

What would you say he’s better at? He’s arguably played with better players at palace than Tark has here too, aside from branthwaite were he’s looked very solid. Maybe Anderson is slightly quicker but I can’t see how you’d say he’s a lot better.

Nah, I remember very vividly a match under Benitez I think it was where Rondon got dragged to the floor as he was about to tap home a low cross. No one even appealed for a penalty, it wasn't given and we just accepted it.

I love that fact Tarks is there in the middle of every contentious decision either in the ref's ear or winding up and opponent because we have very few who actually stand up for anything. Even at the weekend his robust challenge on their player got their most dangerous player so wound up he forgot he's been bagging regularly and focussed instead on barging in to people until he was finally subbed off.

Tarks is doing exactly what is needed and long may it continue.

What about the penalty against Newcastle the one against palace that could have been given he dives in sometimes when there is no need
