They’ll all look better when the season starts.
Will be a lot sharper.

I'd be more worried if we had all our players late bac to training and new signings not playing, that being said they need to sort it out as it will have a negative effect. Starting defence was Virginia Coleman Keane, Holgate, Young. I'll leave that there

Not sure there's much wrong with Virginia, hes a pretty decent backup imo. Hope we can keep hold of him.

In fairness, you could put Kevin de Bruyne in an Everton shirt and you'd say he looks shite.

I would like to start liking Everton players again. Hoping Ndiaye or Lindstrom end up good.

He's ok for a back up, but my point was more that he's not Pickford

Really can't be bothered if we sell DCL and his finishing in this match exemplifies why. That's not preseason form. That's just who he is. Not at all clinical.

I think a half arsed DCL finishes one of those chances in past two games, but to me he looks gone.

Even when we were a lot better we still ran out of ideas in the final third. Now we can’t play in the first two either.

This feels like a Moyes preseason.
Look like shit, worry the sky is falling and we’re not going to have all the players we need, maybe struggle a bit to start the season, pick up steam a little bit into the season and gather enough points for midtable.
Not the best for entertainment purposes but this is the sort of coach you want in charge of your club in a perilous financial position, pretty much selling to buy.
Glad we have Dyche until the ownership situation is sorted. If we start chopping and changing management again, I think it’s a death sentence for our PL status. Nobody who does a good job in any sort of stable way is walking into this situation as is.

Definitely the preseason feels normal, even the CL contenders have suffered beatings with their slightly weakened sides against poorer opposition and they're not panicking (justifiably at least)
Reckon we'll come away with a reasonable result against Roma and then it's season on.

It’s just about fitness and getting the players to be ready for the start of the season and peak around October.
It’s the way he does things. You can tell he has no time for these friendlies and I bet most managers feel the same.
They’d rather have the time on the training ground.
I trust in the manager to have us ready for the start of the season. Fitness has been one of the many improvements since Dyche took over.
But his teams have a habit of running out of steam in the new year so hopefully having a few more options in the forward areas will help in that regard.

Carlo Ancelotti is the only manager to ever get a tune out of Keane-Holgate as a CB pairing and I'm not sure there's another manager in world football that could do that, so lining up with them and losing 3-0 in 2024 is no surprise even in a pre-season friendly.
We'll have some twin Keane on Keane action in a couple of days against Preston.

I'm struggling with DCL as well. After the season he's just had then you'd hope he'd be bang up for pre-season and banging in the goals to build a bit of confidence ahead of the season but he's already had some shocking misses.
