Yeah Branthwaite isn’t going to the Euros, can’t even give him 5mins in a friendly
Southgate going to be relying on Bellingham and Kane to conjure up something magical every game to make him look competent. Can’t he fuck off to Man Utd before the tournament??

Feel like I’m the only Southgate fan left.
I understand he’s cautious and we have an insane talent pool of players but it’s not like it’s a given we should have won the last few tournaments. We’ve still done relatively well and if we win the Euros I’d say he’s done a good job.
I still think we can win it too. Full strength team will be a match for anyone and there are plenty of players in and around the 11 now looking like they can step in.
Just need that bit of luck on top which I think all teams need to go all the way and not something we’ve had lots of in the past.

Won 5 of 27 against top 10 teams now...... unless he's pulling the balls out of the hat he's done shite as England manager. We've just had fantastic draws

This current crop of players has great potential but he's just not ruthless enough.

Conveniently left out Germany like. Not that your point isn't valid.

Done a very good job imo.
People underestimate how difficult it is to win international tournaments.
Has a team that can win this euros though but I worry about our lack in depth and would still put france as strong favourites.
It should be remembered just how low interest in the national team was before he took over.

I think he's been great for where we were. He's done a huge amount of good work bringing the nation together to support the team, getting rid of club rivalry in the team, and given youngsters opportunities to develop and become international class.
My worry is that I don't think he's good enough for where we are now... You look at a team with a midfield of Mainoo, Rice and Bellingham. A forward line of Foden, Saka and Kane. That's a incredible set of options with Stones and Walker at the back who've won everything with City too.
Because of where we've been I think our expectations are lower than they should be as a nation, and Southgate's got us far enough in competitions to make it almost impossible to sack him and replace with a real winning mentality manager.
Whilst the team is young you could argue to give Southgate more time, but the fact is Kane is such a key piece of this team that once he's gone I think we'll struggle with no one waiting in the wings it seems of the same talent.
Personally I'd probably still give this tournament to Southgate but if we don't win it then I'd move heaven and earth to get someone like Ancelotti in to replace him.

Was really impressed with Mainoo last night and have been every time I’ve seen him.
Southgate’s strength has been getting a settled team and sticking with it but it could also be his weakness. That centre mid spot alongside Rice looks realistically the only starting spot up for debate. Will be delighted if Mainoo gets the nod and fuming if it’s given to Henderson or Phillips
France do worry me but this seems like Englands best chance to win a tournament
Pickford
Walker
Stones
Maguire
Shaw
Rice
Mainoo
Bellingham
Foden
Saka
Kane
That is a good starting 11. Obviously would love it if Branthwaite came in for Maguire but to be fair to him (and Pickford and Shaw being the other 2 that Southgate is hated for sticking with) he hasn’t let England down in a tournament and that’s why Southgate sticks with him
With it being only a few times a year National teams meet up, I guess that’s why most of the successful ones make minimal changes to their starting 11s in order to get consistency and understanding between the players.
