I still think somethings happened?
He was atrocious today.

I was watching last night thinking is he really that one footed or do we notice it more because he's left footed?
Every other player we have made passes with their weaker foot, and used it to manipulate the ball. But not McNeil. So one footed it's incredible considering the level he's playing at.

I'm amazed how he got so far, being a stork. Did nobody coach him to have two feet?

I remember Billy's boots in Roy of the Rovers comics, he taught himself to use his weaker foot by training with a slipper on his good foot.
I used to spend hours kicking a ball at the wall with my dodgy left peg to get it serviceable, surely he's done something similar in his football life?
I will email Moyes and the coaching staff immediately.

One run aside worst game I've seen him play. I really like him but I don't know what's going on there. Wouldn't be surprised to see him loaned or sold at this point which I think would be a shame as he's a good player.

When he’s on it he’s good - when he’s out of form he’s really off, as in completely useless. It’s happened before

Still coming back from his injury? What was it? Is this normal for that type of injury?
Deffo not the same player he was before it.

He looked woeful for a while after coming back from his last injury.
We have much better options this time, so he won't see as many minutes getting back up to speed

He was dire in the first half, but he had a few good moments in the second. It happens.

Yeah he does take time, and when he is off it you're right above, he is riiiiiihht off it.
When he's cooking he is a decent little player, but rumours seem to be he doesn't think he'll get enough minutes and wants out to play.

Said it before. Id be shocked if this isnt his last year here.
Some cracking goals and some very good games, but he looks as of he has 0 confidence and has lost a yard of pace which he didnt have to lose to begin with.
Rough stuff all round last night. They way he was already showered and changed before his number was even put up when he was subbed says he knows he stank thr gaff out.

McNeil can only play on the left hand side, and we now have two extremely talented players in Grealish and N’Diaye whose favourite position is on the left. Those two players can also play in the 10, and so it’s possible that McNeil could get game time if Moyes shifted things around, but he won’t be the first or even second choice.
I don’t think he will be leaving in this window because we are short on numbers but next summer looks likely for him to move on when we can further rebalance the midfield.

We could get a smei decent fee for him i think, would make sense that way if he was movd on
I always thought he would be a Moyes type of player though

He has been like this all pre-season too... at Accrington I put it down to "pre-season", but its not changed. Looks lethargic and leggy and disinterested.
I hope whatever is going on with him, that we dont get on his back and make him a target.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume it's either fitness or mental as he's being sold - as we know he's capable of much better.
Sadly for him he's a squad player at best for us now, if he's happy to be that then great but if not then we should get rid whilst he's still got some value.
