The only surprise is that anyone’s surprised. We all know we’re a basket case of a club financially

But while we’re being silly - an actual comparison vs the lowest paid manager in the PL would be the burger would have cost £26.95, not £500.

**Based on today’s cost of £5.39 for a Big Mac

Not if the hot dog next door could have done it for a fiver!

That's good value, might be tempted if that includes the fried onions?

Keeps us up - money well spent.
Gets us relegated - fucking ridiculous to pay top six wedge for that.

Let’s pick this back up in May.
If he’s here in May that is a massive gamble for a man who looks completely void of ideas.

I think things will have to get a fair bit worse before he's sacked, even with new owners

I’d say a dirty burger from a van at the side of a motorway.

You know it’s shit, they know they’re selling shit, but at that moment that burger is exactly what you need.

Or a Big Mac. A classic of the genre, but the game has moved on and left the Big Mac behind. It’s what you get when you’ve ran out of ideas.

I big old burger with bacon and spicy jalapenos... Everyone thinks it's pretty decent but later in the day it starts repeating on some people, and as they chomp a handful of Rennie's like a kid with a pack of Haribo they start to regret spending £8.99 on it and wish they'd bought a Poke Bowl from M&S for a couple of quid cheaper.

The most basic burger that Wetherspoons has to offer, microwaved. Sold with brown sauce, no trimmings and you only want it when you’re drunk and desperate. During the final bites, you just want the ordeal to be over.

"£500 mate"

"Nah it did the job"

"Well worth the money then mate"
I mean I'd say that's an oversimplification that doesn't really reflect our situation when we brought him in, and we're definitely not paying 5000 times over the odds for him.

If you were on the brink of starvation, and the other options were partially edible or looked like they might make you sick, and your last 3 meals were crap and gave you the runs and only made the situation worse....

...then you might pay over the odds for a bowl of plain rice and a glass of clean water.
