I big old burger with bacon and spicy jalapenos... Everyone thinks it's pretty decent but later in the day it starts repeating on some people, and as they chomp a handful of Rennie's like a kid with a pack of Haribo they start to regret spending £8.99 on it and wish they'd bought a Poke Bowl from M&S for a couple of quid cheaper.

The most basic burger that Wetherspoons has to offer, microwaved. Sold with brown sauce, no trimmings and you only want it when you’re drunk and desperate. During the final bites, you just want the ordeal to be over.

I mean I'd say that's an oversimplification that doesn't really reflect our situation when we brought him in, and we're definitely not paying 5000 times over the odds for him.

If you were on the brink of starvation, and the other options were partially edible or looked like they might make you sick, and your last 3 meals were crap and gave you the runs and only made the situation worse....

...then you might pay over the odds for a bowl of plain rice and a glass of clean water.
