Funny I was thinking last game he’s not bad at the defensive side of things considering he’s the most exciting player we’ve had for a long time. Most of those other players are defenders or DMs

And dyche said he can't be played in the ten because he doesn't offer enough defensively.

Then that's the end of that. He's shown he won't change his ideas so we'll frustrate the player, just like Dom. Flogged like a donkey with no carrots. I have backed him until now. He's prepared to put us in a relegation battle than adapt. Cannot wait to see the back of him myself

He does say stuff tho doesn't he and then sometimes goes against it.
Probably just doesn't want to say whatever the truth is so he does his management doublespeak for 2 mins

That’s what you want from your creative player tackles and interceptions

It's almost as if they're two entirely different positions, and the requirements are different.
There's a reason why under dyche, our number 10s do more running than anyone else on the pitch. I'm not sure that's how we want Ndiaye to use his energy.

Doing great on the left, looks like a winger with his tricky dribbling. Nothing wrong with your wide player doing the defensive side too, been a fantastic signing and an absolute bargain it would seem.

The irony is he plays Doucoure there due to his running, but he offers nothing you'd want in a number 10, composure, quality, goal threat or control, he just runs. I think it sums Dyche up that over everything else his main priority is running and defending.
You could throw him back in time to the 80s easily and he wouldnt look out of place, he'd be the type of manager back then, like he is now, that wouldnt pick a Hoddle, instead going for some clogger who smashes people

Yeah but he smashed it for Sheffield United playing as a second striker and offers the composure and skill in that position nobody else does. Instead, McNeil gets to learn on the job and the whole side looks disjointed / it’s again down to his Burnley boy loyalty / same reason we didn’t see Branthwaite start last season until Keane’s debacle against Villa and Mina for Keane the season before.
Be interesting to see what the new manager does him.

I feel like he's demonstrated his defensive capabilities pretty well, showing that he could indeed hit those requirements?
Maybe he doesn't know how to press?

I posted the 3-4-2-1 with Ndaiye and Lindstrom as dual 10s under Potter in the next manager thread. I doubt Ndaiye as a solo 10 but as a dual one? All day long!

What is this thing about doubting Ndiaye as a ten haha, where does it actually come from?

Should we start asking if he contributes enough?
