Anyone who thought he had that in him today is lying, but it's great when someone does this. Changed the whole narrative on what fans will think of him going forward
We knew he could pass a ball, but really did not expect him to be capable of threading through passes like he was today. For a player fresh from a long term injury, he was superb today.

Pretty mad he had his best game in an Everton shirt today, Moyes didn't even think he was ready to start!

I always thought he had it in his locker, he did exactly the same at Forest.

There were a few that had his back. Always a good ball deliverer, good presser, smart. Showed it at Forest, just seemed to fall under a 'Man Utd reject' lens when that wasn't really the case. He's a Moyes type player, drilled and skilled, good at England U21s, so hopefully we'll continue to see more of it.
It's about consistency now though, especially after injury, as with Beto & Lindstrom.

His best game for us today by a long, long way.
He has real quality on the ball. He needs to show it a lot more.

He previously only had 1 full season in the Premier league behind him with some loans in the Champs. He is only 23 and played in some dreadful set ups for us. Always seen him as one for the future, but even on here, which is pretty mild, he has had plenty of grief which I have felt was a bit unfair.
Something about him I really like though..like he really fucking wants it.

He hasn’t really had that much of an opportunity but has a bit of a good reputation for set pieces tgat we have never really seen.

I didn’t think he had that pass in him tbh but that aside, this is what we’ve seen from him since he got here imo. It’s probably just more glaringly obvious what he brings given he’s been out for a while and he’s been very underrated on here. Lots of good teams have a good all round midfielder that doesn’t create or score lots. That Anderson for Forrest is a good comparison for a contemporary player and they’re smashing it. Gundogan is another for someone with a top level career who only really had a decent goals return late on. They support the more creative players which we don’t have many of.

We've managed to bring in a few players with a history for taking a good set piece and somehow not see much sign of it after they arrive.
When was the last time we scored direct from a freekick in a non-friendly? Digne?

Didn't Gomes score our first in years?
