Bizarrely being linked with this guy
Everton are keen on Botafogo Goalkeeper, John Victor. West Ham have made an €8M bid
(Source - Fabrizio Romano )
Feels like someone throwing our name in the mix to push the price on West Ham?
As one of the few people I imagine who watched them in the Club World Cup, he seemed pretty decent. Would be another 6'5 player to add to the squad too.
Seems pretty unlikely though having already added Travers. Although I'm not sure what the situation is with our third choice option these days.
I hate to be suspicious and I know I'll get slated for this but I get a feeling in the back of my neck that the Friedkins either don't seem in a hurry to move things along or don't have the clout we think they have..

Would love to be a fly on the wall of our recruitment team right now. If they're going in with another bid for Dibling, go ahead and bloody do it, get it done and get another done....should be moving on multiple fronts not one at a time. If Sunderland can attract players who played in the champions league last season, there's no reason why we can't get players over the line other than poor negotiation skills.

We're yet to get any evidence of how they like to do things.
My theory is that they lay down a set of rules from afar and let the people on the ground work within those rules.
You can go back to when the transfer windows began, we’ve ALWAYS done the bulk of our signings at the end, like the majority of the clubs in our position.

The Friedkins aren't running the club. Angus Kinnear is.
Clearly we are after ball carrying midfield players - we could one of Grealish or kdh on loan and dibling as a permanent transfer and it would transform the midfield
Shove a Luiz and a pacey winger (either flank) and finally we can start to relax.
Admittedly, this is largely based on watching him a few times for Leicester 2 or 3 years ago, but I made my mind up then that he was a myth and I've not really watched him since to disprove my theory.
