I've mentioned how impressed i am so far with the "extra-curricular" activity. But music is second only to football in this city and so they have to nail it.
If we get an announcement that Paul McCartney, Gerry Cinnamon, Pink and the Weeknd are playing over a few weeks, i'll be heartbroken.

No offence to any of those like. All giants in their own right. I just want something more. Something unique.
A support act playing in the plaza before hand. A Fri-Sat festival vibe or something.
How about the Stones?

That's a very niche, very deep cut of a joke

Doesn’t get bigger than McCartney.

Don’t know what else you could want outside of laser beams and space shuttles to the ground.
Problem is McCartney's voice went 20 years ago and he sounds fucking awful now. He'll also need a good 48 hours to fully defrost before each performance.

If we're going to bring music concerts, at least try to attract somebody whose best years are not half a century behind them.

How about McCartney and the Stones and dub it "The Antiques Roadshow"?

He could charge £200 a ticket and sell out multiple nights though.

Springsteen wheeled him out last year at Anfield and he sounded awful. I don't know quite what you would describe it as, but singing it certainly wasn't. Kind of felt a little sorry for him to be honest. He was trying, but the voice just wasn't there anymore.

If it keeps the Benjamins rolling in, then who are we to knock it? That's one thing that the septics are bloody good at, generating money.

I'm surprised they can grow a new pitch in such a short space of time. Those lights must be magic!

Can’t imagine there is any profit from the golf if that’s the reason we need a new pitch, that’s a massive expense.
