Just seen this. Like Bluedylan says he's absolutely entitled to ask for whatever he wants. It has to be the firmest of passes from the club though. He's not remotely worth 130k (and apparently a raise) to us now never-mind in a year or 2 time
He'll be playing in the middle east if he wants that money

Bit of a bellend coming out with that. There's ways of going about it and he could leave on good terms but coming out with shite like that is poor and won't endear him to anyone, especially when he starts bringing the fans into it.
Off you fuck.

He is absolutely entitled to believe in himself and what he is worth, but he should keep it between his ears and his thoughts behind closed doors.
By being so public with his opinion, this is obviously his Hail Mary negotiating tactic after all else failing. I think he wants to stay but knows he can get the same / better money in the Middle East. Good luck to him if that’s the case.

He comes across as a bit delusional. Wanting probably Saudi money playing for a team struggling in England. Wanting old everton money when paying them wages almost bankrupted us.
Beyond everything else though he can't trap a bag of wet cement, every counter breaks down cos he's awful on the ball and he's scored about 3 goals this season
Feels like he's asking for money than double what anyone on here thinks he's worth to us.

Why is he doing this?
He's in negotiation for his next contract.
What kind of moron would go on a podcast and say yeah quite desperate, would take less than currently on personally.

Scoring important goals?
I suppose he does have 3 times as many goals as Harrison this season.

Not great to be going on the fozcast having a little dig at the fans is it?
Feel like there’s no real need to do this a few weeks before the season ends.

Pretty tone deaf with our financial issues over the last few years to say all that in public. Won't do much to get Everton fans behind him signing.

Ah feel like I'm going mad reading this.
WHAT footballer on the planet is saying anything different?
Whatever, sounds like he's going anyway, but he's said nothing wrong here.

Exactly this it's utterly delusional about his value. He might very well get what he wants if he goes to Saudi but he doesn't have to use us to get the Saudis to pay the Saudi rate
The very main point here though is that none of us remotely enjoy watching him play football. The fans want him to stay because we've lots to do, he'd be a cheap option and he's got a lovely smile. I'd hazard a guess that no one would want him to stay at 130k a week plus. Probably be about 50 50 at half that. Us fans really aren't as keen on him as he thinks we are

It's hardly crazy talking is it. Most fans don't rate him, half of us thought maybe on the cheap. He's come out saying he deserves 110% rather than 50. I don't think anyone's right arsed. He's just made it clear there's literally no chance of a meeting of the minds on him staying. I think we'd have to want him to be here to be genuinely offended by his comments. I'm just flabbergasted at what he thinks he's worth
Not really sure why he's mentioning the fans. He's suggesting the club hasn't offered him anything. Least we value him at 50%.
