I think I get it with Nev. He took umbrage at someone saying a current player was great. I think he’s annoyed at words like that being thrown around too easily when his team earned it. It devalues the true greats if you say others are also great.

I genuinely think Southall is the best player we’ve had, with the possible exception of Dixie.

Having said that, I love you Nev, but please stop!

I think his problem is the standards when he was there where obviously much higher.

Too true. I sometimes think Nev is out of touch with current football.

Nev's talked shite pretty much since the day he retired. He's suggested Dunc for the manager's job more than once.

When you've been the best goalkeeper in the world you can kind of say what you want, he's not going to understand modern goalkeeping it's a very different game but I don't think there's many keepers in the game, if any near the levels Southall reached.

Love him but only damaging his own rep with this stuff.

Okay to have an opinion of course but never going to go down well these comments.
