I didn't particularly have a problem with the 4 CBs, our options there are limited. I do think the midfield was a curious arrangement though. Almost/kinda/did work though in terms of the final score, but can't entirely ignore we were well off it for the first half of the game. Ok, it's about the 90 mins as a whole but it's weird we have to get to half time to actually be proactive as it adds a lot of pressure.
4CBs should mean we take a little more risk in other areas.

I know Dibling barely was involved when he came on, but Brighton were controlling the ball pretty well at that point and we were mostly chasing shadows. Still think it's an insane choice to play Armstrong on the right, got to give Dibling a bit of the grace we've given Barry to find his feet in the team. Could probably argue similar about Patterson.
That said, we should've been 1 up with that starting line up and it would have been a Moyes masterclass I suppose of getting a result.
Patterson a starter for me and would start Dibling at Fulham, hook him after 45 mins if not working.

Think the defence was fine. We've all moaned about Mykolenko so we can't complain when he doesn't play and I know Patterson has done ok but the reality is he isn't very good. The midfield lineup was bloody weird but we did create chances second half and should have maybe won.
Was it boring as fuck? Yes but we've got a number of players either just back from injury or back from AFCON so I'm not surprised we are being pragmatic.

Like I said, there's a happy medium, 0 shots on target in the first half, 5 touches in their box in the first half, against the mighty Brighton.

Also, if you didn’t believe Grealish was a spaceman before, now you know.
Ndiaye is immense but his success rate in situations where Grealish almost always keeps the ball or beats his man absolutely pales in comparison.
Was lovely for the nearly half a season we had both. Glad we’re not allowed to have nice things for any substantive period of time.

In Moyes’ defense, Branthwaite looked a more natural attacking LB than Mykolenko.
Can’t defend O’Brien though, only use is winning headers against opposing wingers and full backs.
