And how do you pick a new manager?
On what they achieved last season?

Burnley sacked Dyche and were relegated
Made the wrong appointment, I guess

Think Burnley's issue getting relegated that season was more Dyche getting 4 wins in 30 matches rather than his replacement getting 3 wins in 8.

Shit they were in better form than we're in

And one of those 4 wins was against us!

He needs to go but I understand keeping him till the end of the season for financial reasons. Ipswich are worrying me though.
Just feel utterly fed up with it all. A bit of hope however that may come would be great.
I appreciate the job he’s done yet he’s been total shite at the same time. It’s painful. I just want to enjoy football again

Dyche doesn't have a strong hand at all.
He's basically had no boss for ages. Now he's got proper oversight. You can hear that in his interviews since TFG came in. He's changed tone quite significantly.
He's gone from ''I'm basically keeping this club afloat on my own, you should be endlessly grateful'' type bluster to ''we'll see what the new owners want, and I'm not sure what the plans are'' uncertainty.
Also, he's probably already thinking about his next job, and wondering whether he's done enough to convince anyone in the Prem that he's still relevant as a manager.
Once he's left here, we'll see a series of interviews about how insanely difficult keeping Everton in the Prem was, how wild things were behind the scenes and how ''proper football men'' think he's done an amazing job. There'll also probably be some hints that the Everton fanbase is ungrateful and entitled, and they should thank him for the gruel that he served up.
And he wouldn’t be far from the truth, it is turgid for us to watch, but he is what he is, and he’s done what was asked of him…….so far. Whatever happens, this chapter gets put to bed soon one way or the other, most likely us still a premier league club going in to BMD, and we’d have taken that all day long three years ago.
Happy new year.

Yeah I wouldn't disagree with you.
I can't stand him and never have been able to, but he's just about filled the brief when he came here while not disproving any of the stereotypes about him as a manager, or noticeably improving his reputation.
Happy New Year x

You just have to look at what McKenna has done with Ipswich to show what a promising young coach can do. Half of the starting 11 that beat Chelsea and sit 3 points below us were in League 1 with them. They have a footballing identity, the ability to create goals from open play and a fan base enjoying the football.
Only two players I would take from their squad, Davis and Delap.

Jean Cajuste (on loan from Napoli), quality player.
Omari Hutchison (ex Chelsea), only 21 and has 3 g+a so far. Looks good enough for this level for sure.

Calendar year table for 2024 for the entire EFL 92.
Bottom for goals scored.
Second to bottom for games won.

I don’t think anybody thinks he’s doing a good job at this point.
He has no defence. Just a matter of time before he’s gone now.
